Millville Protein Chewy Bars

Aldi offers several varieties of protein bars and granola bars in the breakfast and snack aisle. Today, we’re looking at the Millville Protein Chewy Bars.

Millville Protein Chewy Bars

These protein bars come in two flavors: Peanut, Dark Chocolate and Almond as well as Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter.

My biggest concern when buying snack bars or granola bars is the sugar content, which is almost always higher than I prefer.

I initially purchased these protein bars because their sugar content is low, at 2 grams for the Peanut, Dark Chocolate, and Almond flavor and 3 grams for the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor.

As one would expect with protein bars, these pack a good dose of protein (10 grams per serving). They also are filling at 190 calories per bar, but one might also expect that from a protein bar. They are not low-calorie snacks.

The Peanut, Dark Chocolate, and Almond flavored bars are naturally and artificially flavored. Interestingly, the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter bars are naturally flavored, with no mention on the packaging of artificial flavoring.

The bars contain between 170 and 180 mg of sodium, 10 to 11 grams of fat, and 16 grams of carbohydrates.

These protein bars taste good! My young daughters enjoy them as snacks any time of day or as additions to the school lunch bag. They have just the right amount of sweetness, along with crisp rice cereal and plenty of whole peanuts and almonds, so they are both chewy and a little bit crunchy.

I prefer these protein bars over my family’s other Aldi favorite, the Millville Fruit and Grain Cereal Bars, which have a fruit filling and a higher sugar content but lack the chocolate and nuts we like so well in the Protein Chewy Bars.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s Millville Protein Chewy Bars are recommended if you’re looking for a snack, breakfast, or small meal substitute with a low sugar content that still tastes good.

  1. Totally agree, these are some of my favorite granola bars form ALDI. These and the chocolate/cherry ones!

  2. I love your peanut butter and dark chocolate protein bar, but I noticed that you recently changed the formula from 6 grams of sugar to 7. Can you please change it back to 6 grams? The extra gram of sugar makes it cloyingly sweet.

  3. The first bar I opened out of the box I took a bite and had a long piece of hard plastic in my mouth. Things should be sanitary and careful checked before sending out . Thankful it was me and not a child could of been bad .

  4. I love these protein bars and eat them almost everyday. My problem is that I have been unable to find them at any of the three Aldi stores near me. I hope they have not been discontinued. The employees did not seem to be aware of the status of these protein bars.
