Landscape edging can be costly, especially if you want it to look good. Fortunately, Aldi has you covered. Every spring, the store rolls out plastic border stone edging as a Special Buy for a fraction of the cost of real stone edging.

Suncast Border Stone Edging

The Suncast Border Stone Edging comes in a box containing 10 feet of edging, and it’s made in the U.S. Suncast products are sold in major retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Home Depot. This product contains 10 pieces of edging each 12 inches long. The box advertises the edging installs in minutes and requires no digging, and this was my experience when I installed the edging in my own yard.

The box directions state to clear your area of rocks and other objects that may get in the way of installation. Using a rubber mallet, pound your first piece of edging into the ground. Align the connection points and pound the section piece into the ground, connecting it to the first piece. Continue until your project is finished. For a more finished look, you can cut off the connection hub on the final piece.

If you want to create a radius, gently bend the edging as you pound it into the ground. To create a 90-degree corner, align the connection points at a 90-degree angle and pound into the ground.

I placed the edging along an area where I’ve already gardened for years, and I wanted a simple border to better define the garden area and to help keep grass and weeds from encroaching into the garden. It installed quickly and easily, and I hardly used a rubber mallet because the ground was already fairly soft where I had tilled my garden.
