Benner Premium Green Teas: Mint + Ginger + Pomegranate Blueberry Acai

This is a guest post from Virginia regarding some of Aldi’s Special Buy (ALDI Find) green teas. We also have write-ups on Aldi’s Regular Buy teas and Holiday tea selection.

Aldi Green TeaEver since Aldi came to Atlanta when I was in high school, I have enjoyed shopping at Aldi in every city I’ve lived in. I love the store’s seasonal items, inexpensive staples, and Double Guarantee, just to name a few things. Aldi has always been budget-friendly, which has been especially important while I am a graduate student making graduate money.

With the long hours I put in for work and study, I am always on the lookout for inexpensive and tasty caffeine. I like to rotate between coffee and tea and keep stashes of both at home and work. I was excited when a recent Aldi ad listed three new green teas by Benner Tea Co.: Mint, Ginger, and Pomegranate Blueberry Acai. I had to pick up all three to give them a go, especially at $1.89 each. Each box comes with 20 sachets of tea, or about 9.45 cents a sachet.

Benner Mint Green Tea

Benner Mint Green Tea

Ingredients: green tea, spearmint, lemon grass, peppermint

This tea made my day! I have always loved mint tea and have enjoyed the Benner Tea Co. peppermint that is normally offered at Aldi. But this mint tea has spearmint and reminded me of the lovely (and so expensive) Tazo Refresh Mint Herbal Tea. I’m in love! I will be back to stock up while this is still offered!

Benner Ginger Green Tea

Ingredients: Ginger root, green tea, lemon grass, spearmint

Ginger is the first ingredient listed and you can feel it! I’m not much of an everyday ginger tea drinker but think this will do just the trick first thing in the morning during the cold, winter months. While the ginger is a bit sharp and sinus clearing, the tea overall has a smooth flavor.

Benner Pomegranate Blueberry Acai Green Tea

Benner Pomegranate Blueberry Acai Ingredients: Green tea, hibiscus, orange peels, natural flavors, dried pomegranate, dried blueberry, dried acai

Hibiscus always turns tea a lovely rosy color. As far as a fruity tea, this one was kind of mild. A tiny bit tart, but not sour, and tasted mostly like blueberry. It’s a fine fruity tea, but I would buy it again if the flavors were a little stronger.

The Verdict:

Because they’re a Special Buy (ALDI Find), I don’t know how long these teas will last, but give them a try! I do hope that Aldi will keep these flavors or expand its tea offerings in the future. I will be stocking up on the Mint Green Tea to enjoy this limited-time offering. If Aldi is taking requests for new flavors, I’d personally vote for a ginger / turmeric blend!

  1. I agree with this 100%! Having tried all three a ginger/turmeric or chai/turmeric blend would be my request as well!
