Lacura Ultra Moisture Body Wash

Last Updated on December 15, 2017

Aldi recently offered several types of body wash for men and women as Special Buys (ALDI Finds). The store typically only sells a higher-end bar soap and no body wash, so I was intrigued and grabbed one bottle for myself and one for my husband. Read his review of one of the men’s body washes here. Today, I’m looking at one of the Lacura women’s body washes.

Lacura Ultra Moisture Body Wash

Aldi sold two types of body wash for women: Ultra Moisture or Age Defying. I opted for the Lacura Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter.

This body wash comes in a 23.7-ounce bottle and claims to be comparable to Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash. It advertises “lasting moisture to treat dryness” and is made in Canada.

As far as price is concerned, this isn’t the cheapest women’s body wash on the market. At $2.99 a bottle at my local Aldi, I can buy dollar store body wash or Suave body wash for less. However, Lacura is respected as a quality brand and is popular in Europe, and this particular body wash targets Olay customers who are willing to pay a little more of a premium for a good product. To compare, name brand Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash currently sells for $4.99 for a 22-ounce bottle on Target’s website.

The Lacura body wash has a nice smell that isn’t overpowering. It is fairly thick, and it didn’t take much to work up a nice, smooth lather on my washcloth. It almost felt like putting lotion on my body in the shower, and it will hopefully be of some help during the coming winter months when dry skin can be troublesome.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s Lacura Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter is comparable to Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash. It is almost half the price of Olay, has a mild scent, and creates a thick and smooth lather in the shower. You can probably find cheaper body wash at the dollar store or by purchasing a brand like Suave, but if you want a premium body wash without a premium price, this Lacura brand might be for you.
