Easy Home Over the Door Hooks

Sometimes you need more space to put things, and a handy over-the-door hook might be just what is called for. Aldi sells a variety of hooks that hang over doors, including Easy Home Over the Door Hooks.

Easy Home Over the Door Hooks

These sold for $4.99 at the time of publication, and they come with four separate hooks in a box and are convenient to use in almost any room. They don’t require any tools or drilling holes in doors, and they can be moved around to different doors if your needs change.

The Easy Home hooks are stainless steel with foam protection dots stuck on the back of each hook to keep them from damaging the paint or chipping your door. Hook depth is 1.5 inches (3.8 centimeters), and each hook can hold up to 22 pounds (9.9 kg). The hooks are made in China.

The box states these hooks are “perfect for coats, clothing, aprons, towels or hats” and that they are “ideal for the bedroom, bathroom or laundry.”

The Easy Home Over the Door Hooks quickly hang on any door. You can hang all four together on one door, or you can spread them around on different doors.

Two hooks on the closet door in my basement guest bedroom.

I used the hooks in my finished basement guest bedroom, where guests will now have spots to hang coats, sweaters, clothing on hangers, bags, hats, or other items. I put two hooks on the closet door and two on the regular door. These work fine for my purposes.

The only potential drawback is that because the hooks are so small, you have to reach high to hang items from them. This is not an issue if the people using the hooks are average-height adults. These would not work in a child’s bedroom, and they might be frustrating for other people who are not tall.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s Easy Home Over the Door Hooks are a quick and convenient way to add a bit of extra storage space to any door. They have foam protective dots on the backs to keep the paint on your doors looking good. Shorter people beware: the hooks are small and go right at the top of a door, so you may have to reach high to put things on them.
