Aldi Recalls Baker’s Corner All Purpose Flour in Northeast U.S.

In a press release dated May 23, 2019, Aldi announced it has recalled Baker’s Corner All Purpose Flour that was sold at stores in the Northeastern United States because of the potential presence of E. coli.

Aldi states the recall is in cooperation with ADM Milling Co. According to Aldi, the flour came from an ADM Milling Co. production facility in Buffalo, New York, and was sold at Aldi stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia.

The Baker’s Corner All Purpose Flour affected by the recall is sold in a 5-pound bag with the following UPC code: 041498130404. Out of caution, Aldi has recalled all best if used by dates and all lots of Baker’s Corner All Purpose Flour products that ADM Milling Co. in Buffalo, N.Y., produced.

Aldi’s press release states that if you have a product affected by the recall, you should throw it away or return it to your local Aldi store for a full refund. Customers with questions can call ADM Milling Co.’s customer service number at 800-422-1688 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central Time.

Aldi also reminds customers not to eat any raw products made with flour. Because flour comes from milling wheat, which grows outdoors, it does have a risk of carrying bacteria, which is killed when the product is baked, fried, or boiled. Aldi recommends washing your hands, work surfaces and utensils after contact with raw dough products or flour. The CDC has more information about the risks of eating raw dough here.

Purpose Flour sold at retail locations in the Northeastern United States due to a potential presence of E.

This product was sourced from an ADM Milling Co. production facility in Buffalo, N.Y. and was distributed to
select ALDI stores in 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New
York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia. The Bakers Corner All Purpose Flour
affected by the ADM Milling Co. recall is sold in a 5 lb. bag with the following UPC code: 041498130404. Out
of an abundance of caution, ALDI has recalled all best if used by dates and all lots of Bakers Corner All
Purpose Flour products produced by ADM Milling Co. in Buffalo, N.Y. from store shelves in these states.
ALDI takes the safety and integrity of the products it sells seriously. If customers have product affected by
this voluntary recall, they should discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund.
