EDITOR’S NOTE 2: Aldi sold additional holiday village buildings in 2023 for a lower price of $12.99 each. They included a different Aldi store, a wine bar, and a bakery.
When I was a kid, my mom had a small ceramic Christmas village she set up on top of a bookshelf every year. My siblings and I enjoyed looking at all the little details on the buildings and figures in the set, and we liked how some of the buildings’ windows emitted a soft glow of light from bulbs inside. I still love to look at my mom’s holiday village when I return to visit during the Christmas season.
I now own a Christmas village of my own, with most of the buildings and houses given to me by my parents and siblings. My village is populated by an eclectic array of buildings that reflect some of my background and interests, including a bakery, a bookshop and actor’s studio, a newspaper, a church, and also Ralphie’s house from the movie “A Christmas Story.”
One thing my village doesn’t have is a grocery store, but it appears that I’ll be getting a grocery store building to add to my collection this year. Specifically, an Aldi grocery store building.
For the first time I can recall, Aldi is selling some Christmas village buildings. They include some traditional options you might find in any Christmas village, including a toy store and a Christmas tree shop. But what’s going to catch most Aldi shoppers’ attention is the Aldi market.
Aldi has successfully ventured into the realm of fan merchandise a few times this past year. In the spring of 2022, they sold a gear capsule collection that included Aldi-branded products such as socks, water bottles, pajamas, and more. They also sold a children’s play Aldi market with play food last spring.
So it makes sense that Aldi is selling more self-branded merchandise.

Merry Moments Holiday Village Houses (Product Code: 707506) cost $14.99 each. That’s pretty inexpensive compared to most Christmas village pieces on Amazon, and, of course, you’re unlikely to find an Aldi market for your village anywhere else. As mentioned above, the village houses at Aldi include an Aldi market, a toy store, and a Christmas tree shop.
These are Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back next Christmas season. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

What We Don’t Know:
These aren’t yet in stock at Aldi, so we haven’t gotten our hands on one at this point. As soon as they arrive in stores, we plan to purchase the mini Aldi market building and do a full review. In the meantime, we write open threads to give readers a place to talk about Aldi products.

I purchased two of the Aldi finds battery operated lit buildings with timer function. The Toy Shop and the Tree Farm were the only two I saw in several Aldi’s near me. I never did see the Aldi Store, or I would have purchased that as well. I also bought the indoor, battery operated birch trees with timer function. I bought several of the shorter, 2 pack trees and several of the taller, 1 pack. I am so pleased with everything. The batteries in all items tend to last about one month (with continuous six hour daily on time use). I’d like to post pictures of my displays but don’t see any place to add those.
