These Are Some of the Best Pizzas Aldi Has Ever Sold

Last Updated on May 18, 2023

It’s impossible to shop at Aldi for long without noticing their pizzas. You can spot them all over the store: in the Aldi Finds freezer aisle, in the Regular Buys freezer, in the refrigerated section, and even pizza kits in the nonperishable aisles. If you’re in the mood for an indulgent pizza, you can’t go wrong with most of them at Aldi.

Most Aldi pizzas are sold under the Mama Cozzi’s brand, which is not its own company but instead is the private label Aldi uses for pizza and different types of garlic bread.

In general, Aldi pizzas are pretty good, but we have a few favorites. We’ve separated them here into Aldi Find pizzas, which are only sold for a short time, and Regular Buy pizzas, which are stocked all year. Other than that, these pizzas are not listed in any particular order or ranking. Unless otherwise noted, these pizzas were sold frozen.

(EDITOR’S NOTE: This is an opinion piece and is based on personal tastes and preferences. If you have a favorite Aldi pizza, feel free to let us know — politely — in the comments.)

The Best Aldi Find Pizzas:

Mama Cozzi’s Tavern Style Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Tavern Style Pizza

Thoughts: Sold in October of 2022 in the freezer aisle, this Aldi Find pizza came in Cheese or Supreme varieties and featured a thin crust. Both were very cheesy, and the Supreme version had lots of veggies including bell peppers, red onion, and mushrooms.

Mama Cozzi’s Macaroni & Cheese Take & Bake Pizza

Thoughts: Last sold in March of 2022, this Aldi Find pizza had a thin crust with a gooey cheese sauce topped with mozzarella and cheddar cheese and, of course, macaroni noodles. We’re always fans of a good cheese pizza, but the cheese sauce on this pizza really won us over. This was sold in the refrigerated take and bake pizza section.

Specially Selected Wood-Fired Neapolitan Style Flatbread Pizza

Specially Selected Wood-Fired Flatbread Pizza

Thoughts: Sold in August of 2022, this Aldi Find pizza was available in Classic Combo Supreme or BBQ Chicken varieties. Neapolitan pizzas tend to feature fresh, basic ingredients and are cooked in a wood-fired oven. These had a slightly charred, bubbly crust and a soft interior that made for a good pizza.

Mama Cozzi’s Artisan Style Crust Pizza

Thoughts: We first found these at Aldi in the spring of 2021. These Aldi Find pizzas were available in Four Meat or Pepperoni with Mushroom & Black Olive varieties. Both are good, but we fell in love with the Four Meat pizza and ended up buying several more before they sold out. The crust was crisp, and the roasted-red pepper sauce on the Four Meat pizza was surprisingly good, even to members of our household who don’t like peppers.

Gino’s East of Chicago Deep Dish Pizza

Gino's East Deep Dish Pizza

Thoughts: This is not an Aldi-exclusive brand. Instead, this is a grocery store offering from a popular Chicago pizza restaurant, Gino’s East, which has a flagship location on the Magnificent Mile. This Aldi Find pizza comes in cheese or sausage and pepperoni varieties. Both feature a thick, golden, chewy crust filled with cheese and chunky tomato sauce. We tried these in early 2021, and they were a fun way to shake up pizza night.

Mama Cozzi’s Crispy Pan Pizza

Thoughts: We first tried these Aldi Find pizzas in the fall of 2020, and we were instantly hooked. They’re restaurant quality with thick, airy, crispy crusts and plenty of toppings. They remind us of some pan pizzas we’ve gotten at Pizza Hut. Packaging may be somewhat different now, but for a long time, when Aldi stocked these, they were in two-packs with one cheese pizza and one pepperoni pizza. As a bonus, these pizzas come with their own cardboard trays they bake in. Whenever we see these at Aldi, we buy multiple boxes.

Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Dip-N-Strips

Mama Cozzi's Dip-N-Strips

Thoughts: We haven’t seen these Aldi Find pizzas in a while, but they’re one of our favorite indulgences. They feature strips of cheese or pepperoni pizza, and they come with both marinara sauce and garlic butter sauce for dipping. The garlic butter sauce reminds us of the sauce cups that come with Papa John’s pizza. We stock up when we find these.

Mama Cozzi’s Artisan-Inspired Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe Flatbread Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Artisan-Inspired Flatbread Pizza Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Thoughts: First sold in the late summer of 2022, this Aldi Find pizza is great for fans of Indian food. We love tikka masala, and this is a nice mashup of some of our favorite foods: tikka and pizza. It has some kick but isn’t too spicy. This was sold refrigerated, and we bought a couple of extras and froze them.

The Best Regular Buy Aldi Pizzas:

Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza

Mama Cozzi's French Bread Pizza

Thoughts: This Regular Buy pizza bakes up lightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and has good toppings. If you want something different than a traditional pizza, this is a good option, but be aware that one box doesn’t contain many servings.

Mama Cozzi’s Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Cheese Stuffed Crust Pizza

Thoughts: Available in Three Meat or Pepperoni varieties, this pizza used to be a limited-time Aldi Find, and at some point Aldi started stocking it all the time. It’s comparable to DiGiorno stuffed crust pizza and is a family favorite.

Mama Cozzi’s Mini Pizza Crusts

Mama Cozzi's Mini Pizza Crusts

Thoughts: Another variation on a traditional frozen or refrigerated take and bake pizza, these Regular Buy pizza kits contain crusts and sauce to make three mini pizzas. You just need to add your own cheese and whatever other toppings you want, such as pepperoni or veggies. You’ll find these in the non-perishable aisle.

Thoughts: This Regular Buy refrigerated take and bake pizza features a thin crust, lots of veggies such as peppers and olives and onions, as well as pepperoni and sausage. It’s loaded with good toppings and is one of the better grocery store pizzas we’ve had.

Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Mega Meat Extra Large Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Mega Meat Extra Large Pizza

Thoughts: Similar to the supreme pizza listed above but without the veggies, this Regular Buy refrigerated pizza features all sorts of meats, including Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, “beef pizza topping,” and bacon on a thin crust. It’s a great crowd pleaser. As a bonus, you can freeze Aldi take and bake pizzas if you don’t plan to eat them right away.

Honorable Mentions

Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Cauliflower Pepperoni Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Thin Crust Cauliflower Pepperoni Pizza

Thoughts: This limited-time Aldi Find includes cauliflower in the crust but is not gluten free and still contains some carbs, so it’s not perfect for people who are looking for no-carb or wheat-free pizza. However, we were surprised at how much this tasted like a regular frozen pizza.

Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Uncured Pepperoni Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Mama Cozzi's Take & Bake Uncured Pepperoni Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Thoughts: This gluten-free pizza came out of our oven on the soft side, but everyone still liked it. If you need gluten-free, it’s an option among the Regular Buy take & bakes. Aldi gets credit for trying to offer some choices for the gluten-free crowd.

  1. The Mama Cozzi Stone Baked Four Cheese and Vegetable Pizzas are probably my favorite. They honestly don’t taste like frozen pizzas at all. I think they’re from Germany.
I’d put the Mama Cozzi Pan Pizza at number two. Those also taste really good and not cardboard-like like many frozen pizzas.

  2. I like the Specially Selected stone baked pizzas like the mozzarella, cherry tomato, arugula. Great for a light meal!

  3. I love the Mac and cheese pizza! We have a local chain of pizzerias where I live that serves it and they taste the same. I like it cut the Aldi one into 3 or 4 pieces and freeze them. The smaller pieces bake perfectly in my toaster oven.

I look at the pizza section when I’m at Aldi because I’ve found the Mac and Cheese pizza there without seeing it in the ad.

  4. Usually I buy a take and bake sausage pizza add a few things and bake half and share the other half w/GF. It is then frozen for later. Tried the tavern style. Very good hope it comes back very soon.

  5. Wish they come back with their Mexican Pizza…The best I use to buy 3 at a time and they stayed great on freezer too…

  6. The Mama Cozzi’s Take & Bake Supreme Extra Large Pizza is excellent! Besides being enormous, it’s the most flavorful pizza I’ve had since moving to California. The sausage chunks are extra yummy.
