Over the years, my family has purchased various folding chairs for use while camping, going to outdoor parties, or other activities where hauling chairs was a necessity. Over time, these kind of chairs tend to wear out, either as the carry bag starts to tear or the chair itself tears or breaks, or both.

Our current set — a motley collection purchased at different places — has finally started to show its age, so I’ve been thinking about replacing most of them.

Guess who happened to stock them just when I needed them?

Adventuridge Foldable Chair

The Adventuridge Foldable Chair (Product Code: 52802) is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only available in stores for a limited time. Once it’s sold out, you can’t get it anymore. And because Aldi doesn’t ship its products online, if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the chairs cost $17.99 each. That’s more than double what I paid for an Aldi folding chair five years ago. For comparison, a Walmart Ozark Trail chair runs about $9, while a more deluxe AmazonBasics chair prices closer to $23. This Aldi chair is somewhere in between, both in price and in features.

This year, Aldi sold the chair in blue, green, and orange. We picked up one of each. Each chair came with a carry bag, a built in cup holder, and mesh storage on the back (something the Walmart chair lacked). Fully open, the chairs measure 19.7″ x 32.3″ x 35.3″ and have a weight limit of 225 pounds. The chairs are made of a steel frame and a polyester fabric.

According to the tag on the chair, these are made for Camp Planner International, a furniture and camping goods manufacturer. The label attached to the carry bag says the chair has a two-year warranty, serviced by RedFive. This is a nice plus, as many chairs of this type, including the Walmart one, have no warranty at all.

These chairs set up like other folding chairs: you take them out of the bag, unfold them, and you’re done. The chairs, as advertised have both cupholders in the front and mesh pockets in the back.

It is similar in design to the 2017 Adventuridge chair — which, I might add, continues to hold up well after five years. Of note: the 2017 and 2022 Adventuridge models have identical dimensions and weight limits.

I found comfort levels on these chairs to be decent and on par with other similar camping chairs that I’ve had over the years. There are more comfortable chairs out there that are also heavier and harder to transport, and there are also more portable chairs that are less comfortable. These seem to occupy a middle ground in those areas, offering good portability and good enough comfort.

The Verdict:

In our view, the Adventuridge Foldable Chair is on par with other similarly designed foldable camping chairs, both in terms of comfort and ease of use. It’s got features consistent with its price and is easy to use. And the two-year warranty is a nice bonus you don’t always find in chairs like these. If you’re in the market for some new chairs of this style, these are worth a look.
