Aldi Debuts Stylish Ambiano Bamboo Electric Grill

For many people in the U.S., it’s the middle of winter and cooking outdoors is not feasible unless you don’t mind standing around and grilling in snow and cold temperatures. While it’s not the same as outdoor grilling, you do have some indoor grilling options.

You can use electric grills to cook a variety of foods such as burgers, hot dogs, salmon or other fish, vegetables, and even sandwiches such as grilled cheese. They won’t be flavored with smoke or charcoal like food cooked on an outdoor grill, but they do cook efficiently.

Aldi has sold several types of electric grills over the years, with models including a 2-in-1 electric grill and griddle, a 14″ electric grill, an electric raclette grill, an electric smokeless grill, and even an extra large smokeless grill. Aldi also sold a name brand George Foreman grill last summer.

The most recent grill I spotted in the Aldi weekly ad is a bamboo electric grill that features a wooden frame. This grill was sold alongside several Asian-inspired kitchen products at Aldi that included ramen noodle bowls, woks, rice cookers, bamboo steamers, and Asian knife assortments.

What We Know:

The Ambiano Bamboo Electric Grill (Product Code: 14373) cost $39.99 at the time of publication. That’s significantly less than bamboo electric grills that we can find on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back at some point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not in stock at your local store.

This is sold under the Ambiano label. Ambiano is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for assorted kitchen products such as toasters, blenders, handheld frothers, coffee makers, and more.

Here’s more information about the grill, according to Aldi:

• Features a 100% bamboo base with nonstick ceramic grill plate
• Offers variable temperature control
• Includes flat and ridged grill plate for all meals
• Choose a Black or White grill plate

The 2022 model came with a three-year warranty, but Aldi has not yet published warranty information about the 2023 grill.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried this grill, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.
