Aldi Introduces Ambiano The Everything Pizza Grill, a Chefman Knockoff

EDITOR’S NOTE: As soon as this pizza grill arrived in our local stores, we bought one and put it to the test. Read our full review, including how our pizzas turned out, over here

After using a secondhand Weber Q grill for years, we finally upgraded to a brand-new high-end grill this past year. It’s been fantastic. Our grill is our favorite way to cook chicken breasts, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, veggies, and even baked potatoes.

But there’s one food that seems to have more of a learning curve when it comes to grilling, and that’s pizza. We’ve written about our adventures in pizza grilling here. Some of our friends have also tried grilling frozen pizza, with more success than we had, and you can read about their experience here.

Grilling a pizza can be a tricky enough process that we tend to just bake our pizzas in a regular oven.

Aldi, though, is always one to drop novel cooking appliances into its middle aisle.

This summer, Aldi is selling an “everything” pizza grill. This is not your traditional grill. One might argue whether it’s even a grill at all. Instead, it’s an electric gadget that sits on your countertop. You plug it into an outlet and turn it on to cook pizza, flatbreads, and more. So, it’s not going to give your pizza that classic smoky flavor from an outdoor grill, but this could be useful if you don’t have a regular grill, don’t have access to a regular oven, or if you need to free up your oven to bake other things.

The Aldi pizza grill appears to be a knockoff of a Chefman Everything Maker and Pizza Oven, which retails for $59.99 full price on Amazon. The Aldi version is $29.99. While the Chefman oven and the Aldi pizza grill don’t look exactly alike, they look like they operate in generally the same way, and the fact that the Aldi grill includes “everything” in the name makes it pretty clear what Aldi is imitating.

(Note: the current pizza grill is different from the grill top pizza oven Aldi introduced several years ago. That was essentially a box with a pizza stone inside that sat on your grill.)

What We Know:

Ambiano The Everything Pizza Grill

The Ambiano The Everything Pizza Grill (Product Code: 712043) is and Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a brief time. Stores get a single shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some later time. You can’t order this online from Aldi if it’s sold out at your local store.

The Ambiano The Everything Pizza Grill cost $29.99 at the time of publication. That’s less than similar pizza grills or pizza ovens I found on Amazon at the time, including the Chefman Everything Maker and Pizza Oven, which ranged from around $40 to $50 at the time of publication.

Ambiano The Everything Pizza Grill

Here’s more information, according to Aldi:

  • Features a 12″ non-stick top and bottom grill
  • Includes adjustable temperature settings
  • Comes with a wrap-around cord for easy storage

The Aldi ad states you can use this pizza grill to create homemade pizzas, flatbreads, and more. In addition to pizza, the name-brand Chefman Everything Maker and Pizza Oven makes omelets, quesadillas, pancakes, sandwiches, and more. We don’t yet know if the Aldi pizza grill is capable of making all of those other things.

Aldi is selling this under its Ambiano house brand. There isn’t a company called Ambiano. It’s just the name Aldi puts on various kitchen products, which it may source from a variety of different suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried this pizza grill, but this grill caught my attention, and as soon as it arrives in our local stores, I definitely plan to buy it and thoroughly review it. Until then, we don’t know if it comes with any kind of warranty. We write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

  1. The one big problem for my family with this product would be that it can only make 1 pizza at a time. My husband has always been a big pizza lover, so on pizza night we typically will bake 2 pizzas at a time.

    1. At $30 just grab two if possible. The Chefman says it only heats to 428 degrees. I’ve found that frozen/thawed pizzas need to be cooked at 450 degrees if not much higher temps. This Everything Grill does look promising for other food options.
