EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2023.

Waffles are a mainstay of weekend breakfasts in my house. There’s something especially nice about whipping up some waffle batter on a snowy day — or any day, really — and heating up the waffle iron. I love how versatile waffles are, too. I can serve them with traditional butter and maple syrup, or with berries and whipped topping, or even with ice cream as a dessert.

Aldi has sold several types of waffle makers as limited-time specials through the years, including a rotating Belgian waffle maker that is our current favorite, along with a mini waffle maker, and a non-rotating Belgian waffle maker.

Recently, I found a double rotating waffle maker in the weekly Aldi ad. This kitchen gadget makes two waffles at a time instead of one, which could be especially useful when you’re making waffles for the whole family or for guests. It can take some time to cycle all the batter through a waffle maker that makes only one waffle at a time, so this new double waffle maker at Aldi can help you make fluffy waffles in half the time.

What We Know:

Ambiano Double Rotating Waffle Maker

The Ambiano Double Rotating Waffle Maker (Product Code: 704529) cost $29.99 in August of 2023. That’s $5 less than the $34.99 it sold for in September of 2022. This is part of a larger trend we’ve noticed of Aldi quietly dropping prices on many Aldi Finds this past year. That price is also a lot cheaper than other double waffle makers we found on Amazon at the time of writing.

This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store, so if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

Here’s more information about the waffle maker, according to Aldi:

  • Double Capacity: Makes 2 waffles at the same time
  • Rotates 180 degrees for evenly cooked waffles
  • PFOA-Free Non-stick coating for easy food removal
  • 1400W
  • Available in Navy or Warm Gray

What We Don’t Know:

We have not yet tried the Ambiano Double Rotating Waffle Maker, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with Aldi products.

  1. We have a different one. After the batter’s poured and top closed, rotate the cooking unit and pour into the second unit, then rotate to access the first one. A fairly steady stream of waffles can be produced in a short period of time. Hint: Only use oil. Butter and margarine will cause sticking eventually. Very frustrating!

  2. I never knew you could cook 2 at once. I see those rotating ones in hotels all the time, but never saw anyone make 2 at a time! Awesome!

  3. Latch broke on first try using it. You get what you pay for.

Bought this last month and was so excited, unfortunately the excitement was short lived. Hubs tried it out for the first time this am and instructions say explicitly not to use cooking spray. Well, since no cooking spray used, the first set of waffles stuck and there was no way to get them out except in chunks. Next he tried cooking spray and they didn’t cook all the way/were very light in color (odd since you would have thought they would be darker) with the spray. Finally he tried oil (a bit tedious but he used a brush to get it done and they were ok.)

Unfortunately the biggest let down is that the machine broke on the first use/first batch of waffles. The latch to hold it broke /popped open while they were cooking and then he had to hold it closed for all the rest of the batches. Huge let down.

We’ve used a Waringpro double waffle maker for years that finally broke and we know if you overfill them then the batter should come out the sides / drip down…
We were hoping that this would have been a much cheaper replacement option to our previous waffle maker but sadly that’s not the case. He I’ll either have to add a clamp/Velcro to the machine to avoid having to hold it closed if he decides to use it again. I’d like to return it but don’t have the receipt. Waste of money.
