When I was a kid, my family had an air popper machine for making popcorn. It was always great fun to pour hard corn kernels into the machine, turn it on, place a bowl in front of it on the counter, and watch it pop up fluffy pieces of popcorn ready to be drizzled with butter and sprinkled with salt. This holiday season, Aldi is giving me a chance to relive my childhood with its Ambiano Mini Popcorn Machine, which is it selling alongside a gadget that creates another childhood favorite, the Ambiano Cotton Candy Machine.
What We Know:

The Ambiano Cotton Candy Machine and Ambiano Mini Popcorn Machine cost $14.99 in August of 2023. That’s lower than the $24.99 they each went for at Aldi in 2021 and 2022. We have lost track of how many times Aldi has quietly dropped prices on certain Aldi Finds such as these during the last year. That price is also less than most other cotton candy machines and is comparable to other air popcorn poppers I spotted elsewhere.
These are sold in red or teal color themes. They feature easy one-touch operation, and all accessories are included.

They are both Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and when that sells out, these are gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials once they sell out at your local store, so once these are gone, they’re gone.

Aldi has sold other popcorn makers in the past, including an Ambiano Kettle Popcorn Maker and a Crofton Microwave Popcorn Maker, but we didn’t spot this exact mini popcorn machine among our records prior to 2021.

These come with a three-year warranty serviced by Wachsmuth & Krogmann, a common Aldi warranty service provider.
What We Don’t Know:
We have not yet tried the Ambiano Cotton Candy or Mini Popcorn Machines, so we don’t know how well they work, how easy they are to use, or how durable they are. Our goal with open thread posts such as this one is to offer readers a space to share about their experiences with a product.

I purchased an Ambiano Mini Pop Corn Maker from Aldi as a gift to my grand daughter. Following the instructions, we added 1/2 Cup of pop corn into the machine. Within 3 minutes we had a medium size bowl of fresh pop corn! We were however very disappointed in finding a couple tablespoons of unpopped kernels in the bowl when finished. As the kernels popped in the machine they flew out into the bowl taking with them unpopped kernels. Quite a waste. The machine was cheap and I guess the old saying applies, “you get what you pay for.” There are better quality air poppers on the market.
