Aldi Now Delivers Wine and Beer Via Instacart

Aldi alcohol delivery

Aldi is now offering same-day alcohol home delivery to its customers when they order through Instacart.

Aldi states in a press release: “Crunched for time while planning a holiday party? Need a last-minute gift for a host? Don’t want to brave the cold weather? With the click of a button, shoppers can visit shop.aldi.us to select from a wide array of award-winning wine and beer, and have it all delivered to their door.”

Aldi has offered grocery delivery via Instacart for a while to most customers, but the addition of wine and beer delivery is a new development.

“The busy holiday season is fast approaching, making convenience more important than ever, and adding alcohol delivery to our online offerings is one more way Aldi saves you time,” Scott Patton, vice president of corporate buying at Aldi U.S., said. “Our award-winning wines range from less than $5 for 90-point rated Evanta Malbec to $12 for premium offerings, such as 92-point rated Peaks & Tides Cabernet Sauvignon. You can have a bottle delivered to your doorstep in as fast as an hour.”

Aldi’s wine has grown more popular in recent years, and last summer at the Private Label Manufacturers Association 2019 International Salute to Excellence awards in Amsterdam, Aldi won an award for best value with its Evanta Malbec 2017 (Argentina, $4) and an a award for best quality for its Scarlet Path Zinfandel 2017 (Lodi, $8) and Outlander Cabernet Sauvigon 2016 (Paso Robles, $9).

The discount grocery store highlights its award-winning wines as well as promoting a “wine of the month” and a “beer of the month” recommended by its expert buyers on its website, and customers voted Aldi’s Winking Owl Moscato as a fan favorite in 2019. Aldi’s alcohol selection includes red, white, rose, sparkling, and other specialty wines along with premium, craft, and imported beer as well as hard cider, hard root beer, and hard seltzer.

Aldi began offering delivery through Instacart in limited areas starting in 2017, and during the past few years delivery has spread to nearly all U.S. Aldi stores in more than 10,000 ZIP codes.

“Instacart is proud to expand its partnership with Aldi and reach across more Aldi aisles so customers can order wine and beer, in addition to groceries and household essentials, for delivery to their door,” said Chris Rogers, vice president of retail at Instacart. “By introducing Aldi alcohol to the Instacart marketplace, we’re making it even easier for customers to get all their favorites from Aldi delivered in as fast as an hour.”

To order, visit shop.aldi.us or use the Instacart app. Delivery of wine and beer is limited to where state and local laws permit alcohol sales. To see if your local Aldi store qualifies for alcohol delivery, visit shop.aldi.us or use the Instacart app to enter your city and store location. Customers must be 21 years or age or older and must enter their birthdate at checkout. They also have to present a valid government ID at the time of delivery.

If you’re a first-time customer of Instacart, you can get free delivery using the code “ALDIHOLIDAY19” through December 31.
