Aldi Recalls Fresh Peaches in Multiple States Over Salmonella Concerns

On August 19th, 2020, Aldi U.S. voluntarily recalled peaches from Wawona Packing Company LLC due to possible salmonella contamination.

The recall affects stores in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

The recall also affects Target stores.

The CDC states that most people who are infected with salmonella experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps six hours to six days after exposure. Symptoms typically last four to seven days, and most people recover without needing to be treated, but some people experience severe illness and require hospitalization. Children younger than 5, adults 65 and older, and people with compromised immune systems are at highest risk for severe illness.

ALDI Voluntarily Recalls Assorted Peaches from Wawona Packing Company LLC Due to Possible Salmonella Enteritidis Contamination

Batavia, Ill. (August 19, 2020) – As a precautionary measure, ALDI is voluntarily recalling assorted peaches received from its supplier, Wawona Packing Company, due to possible Salmonella contamination.

ALDI has removed the affected peaches from select ALDI stores in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The items were also available for purchase through the company’s partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.
