EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2023.

When fall arrives, Aldi gets serious about stocking baking and cooking supplies you may need for upcoming holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year.

Over the years, we’ve seen Aldi sell several types of stand mixers, ranging from cheap to mid-priced to expensive. Aldi sells most mixers under its Ambiano brand, which is not a separate company but rather is the Aldi private label for various kitchen products, including electric grills and griddles, waffle makers, rice cookers, toasters, and coffee makers.

The most recent mixer in Aldi stores is the mid-priced Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer. We’ve seen Aldi sell a model similar to this one several times going back at least to 2017.

What We Know:

Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer

The classic stand mixer in 2022, when it was available in red.

The Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer (Product Code: 817974 in 2022; Product Code: 826019 in 2023) cost $49.99 in October of 2023. That’s $20 less than the $69.99 it cost in October of 2022. Going farther back, this mixer sold for $59.99 in 2019 and $79.99 in 2021, so we’ve seen this model go up and down in price over the years. The substantial price drop in 2023 is one of many price drops we’ve seen on Aldi Finds this year.

Aldi has sold a few other stand mixer models over the years, including a similar Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer for $59.99 in October of 2018 and October of 2017. The internet went a little gaga over Aldi’s mid-priced mixer a few years ago, in part because it’s a lot cheaper than most other stand mixers of its type. Click here to read one blogger’s experience putting the 2017 mixer model to the test with recipes such as mashed potatoes, roll dough, and cake batter.

This is Aldi’s mid-range stand mixer, and some people online, including Taste of Home, compare it to the KitchenAid brand.

On the cheaper end of things, Aldi also sold a more basic Ambiano 4.6-Quart Stand Mixer for $29.99 in 2018. We own a slightly smaller 2016 model Ambiano 4-Quart Stand Mixer from Aldi. It works for my family’s modest needs, which includes making homemade mashed potatoes as well as banana bread and pumpkin bread. I mostly use it as a handheld mixer without the stand, and you can read our review of that mixer here

In the upper price range, Aldi also sold an Ambiano Professional 4.8-Quart Stand Mixer for $129.99 in November of 2018. We don’t have experience with that model.

Getting back to the 2023 Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer, here’s more information, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Blue or Gray
  • Offers eight speed levels and pulse function (the 2022 model only offered six speed levels)
  • Convenient digital display shows speed settings and continuous processing time
  • Includes dishwasher safe beaters, whisk, dough hook, splash guard, and mixing bowl
  • Anti-slip feet provides additional stability
  • 420 Watts

Aldi has not yet published information about the size of the mixing bowl, but in 2022 it was 5.28 quarts.

In a previous open thread about the older model Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer, some readers commented they had trouble releasing the bowl from the stand. Another reader said the whisk attachment broke and the dust guard cracked after some use. We don’t know if those are still issues with the 2022 model. In a lengthy reddit thread last year, commenters generally agree the Aldi mixer is okay but isn’t the same as a KitchenAid.

The 2022 stand mixer came with a three-year warranty serviced by Medion, which is a common Aldi warranty provider, but Aldi has not yet published information about what kind of warranty the 2023 model has.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried the Ambiano Classic Stand Mixer, so we can’t speak to how well it works or how long it lasts. We also don’t know who makes the stand mixer. We write open threads to provide readers with a place to discuss Aldi products.

  1. I have the 2018 Ambiano Professional 4.8 qt Stand Mixer. It was $129.99 when first offered, but the price was lowered to $99.99 by the time I purchased it (the last one my store had in stock). It is very much like a Kitchen Aid stand mixer (and can use KA attachments via the front port). It is fantastic. I use it often and it does the job. It’s like having a KA stand mixer for a fraction of the price. I love mine and am glad I got it before ALDI changed the type of stand mixers they now offer.

  2. Hello all! Just purchased one. Blue. $49.99. Never owned anything more than a hand mixer. This device is super sweet. I just finished making some carrot cake cupcakes. Oh my, my… No mess. No mess at all. And the machine does all the work! What could be better? Mixed the carrots and chopped nuts into the batter without even blinking an eye. The splash guard kept coming off but once I took a closer look at it I just didn’t have it SNAPPED into place correctly. Since I don’t bake too much (I’m a middle age fool who lives by himself) there would be NO WAY I would spend hundreds of dollars on the fancy name mixer. For a mixer in my budget this one will be just fine.
