EDITOR’S NOTE: This is not the only two-slice toaster Aldi has sold. Read about another Aldi toaster here

Toast is one of my favorite comfort foods. It’s great slathered with butter and jam, or even peanut butter. It’s a perfect base for making a BLT sandwich or a simple breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, cooked bacon, and sliced cheese. For a treat, I might spread some lemon curd on a piece of toast.

Aldi sells toasters from time to time to help you make this breakfast favorite. We own an Ambiano Toaster Oven from Aldi. Aldi has also sold a 4-slice toaster if you want to make a lot of toast at once.

Most recently, Aldi sold a two-slice retro toaster oven as part of an entire lineup of vintage-inspired kitchen appliances to help you make breakfast in style. The retro product line at Aldi also includes a coffee maker, citrus juicer, portable blender, egg cooker, milk frother, immersion blender, and electric water kettle. These teal-colored gadgets all look like they came right out of a mid-century modern kitchen.

Here, we’re taking a closer look at the Ambiano Retro Toaster.

What We Know:

Ambiano Retro Toaster

The Ambiano Retro Toaster (Product Code: 811908) cost $24.99 at the time of publication. That’s on the lower end of prices for retro-style slot toasters on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials if they aren’t in stock at your local store.

Here’s more information about the toaster, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Blue Sage or Cream
  • Features six adjustable browning levels
  • Includes pull out crumb drawer
  • Features stainless steel housing
  • Includes bun toasting attachment

Aldi does not indicate whether this comes with a warranty, but the Aldi website does list contact information for Wuensche, a common Aldi after-sales and warranty service provider.

What We Don’t Know:

We have not yet tried the Ambiano Retro Toaster, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with Aldi products.

  1. In its same online ad and brand, Aldi is offering a retro electric kettle. Same color choices as with the toaster. Looking forward to seeing this item at my store.

  2. The Ambiano retro toaster is here! And the retro electric kettle, too. I picked up the latter earlier today. While preparing the kettle for use, I noted it took about five minutes to bring a full kettle to boil. Not bad for a device that operates on 120 volts (as opposed to 220 volts in Europe).
Afterward, I boiled a smaller quantity of water to make a cup of hot tea. Again, the water was nice and hot, maybe hotter than with the Mueller kettle. I am now prepared to “retire” the latter.
Finally, I believe these small appliances were designed for Aldi by Haden (UK). Manufacturing is in China. No surprise there.

I just tried the teal ambiano toaster from Aldi this morning. It smelled AWFUL and filled my kitchen with smoke while clicking and making zapping electrical noise. This thing is definitely a fire hazard! This is being returned to Aldi today! If you get this, be careful! Scary!
