Ambiano Wine and Beverage Cooler Headed to Aldi

Aldi has leaned in hard on American wine culture. Americans love their alcohol, and while wine has long been a part of that culture, it’s taken on its own cult status in recent years. You don’t have to look too hard on social media to see moms posting about their wine favorites, including their favorite Aldi wine picks. It’s no coincidence that the Aldi wine Advent calendar is an annual hit.

The question is, where do you keep that wine once you’ve got it? The default option is the fridge, but that has problems. Aside from the fact that those tall, big bottles take up space, most wine experts will tell you that a fridge is too cold and too dry to properly store wine.

The solution — assuming you don’t have a wine cave in your vintage home — is a dedicated wine fridge. Aldi loves to sell small appliances, so it was maybe only a matter of time before the grocer sold its own wine fridge.

What We Know:

The Ambiano Wine and Beverage Cooler (Product Code: 705945) is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a limited time. Once it’s gone, you won’t be able to get it again until it comes back into stores, whenever (or if ever) that might be. Aldi doesn’t ship products online, so if it’s not in your stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the cooler costs $149.99. That’s significantly less than any wine and beverage coolers I could find on Amazon.

Here’s more information on the cooler, according to Aldi:

  • Features digital display with touch panel control
  • Temperature range: 41 degrees to 71.6 degrees
  • Includes auto-lock control panel
  • Comes with a glass door
  • Shelves are removable
  • Includes interior blue light

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tested this particular cooler, so we don’t know how easily it sets up, how well it cools, or how long it lasts. We’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.

  1. I was wondering, if you or anyone else reading this can tell me if this cooler is “thermo-electric” or one that uses the “Peltier method” like, say, a traditional refrigerators with compressors & refrigerants?

  2. What is height and depth

  3. Set up is exceptionally easy. Just take it out of the box (cut the plastic straps and lift the box off of it–easy-peasy) and plug it in. Then you can set the temp to whatever you want, down to 40 degrees.

  4. I got a dud.. mines doesn’t cool. The temperature stays at 75

    • You have to hold the temperature button at least 5 seconds to get it blinking, the change the temperature. But I can hardly get the numbers to blink

  5. This was on sale and it seemed foolish not to grab it. Easy set up, straight out of the box with minimal foam to keep it safe in transit. It plugged in and started up right away, took about an hour to cool to my preferred temperature. It holds up to 8 bottles of wine, plus room in the bottom for cans/bottles. My only complaint is that if you have wine in the second shelf you need to wiggle the bottles in carefully or do cans only because the beer bottles can hit the wine (short height clearance)

Fits champagne bottles beautifully alongside standard wine bottles. So far I’m very impressed.

  6. Has anyone utilized this as a fruit and vegetable cellar? I just bought one on clearance, for that purpose, as I live in a small apartment where the kitchen stays hot and my fruits and vegetables go bad quickly. I’m concerned that I may have difficulty maintaining high enough humidity.

  7. Anyone have to getting the temperature buttons to work? I can rarely get them to blink so I can change the temperature. I’ve been holding it down for 5 seconds, but nothing…

  8. got this awesome cooler today at Aldi for a clearance of 37.99

  9. From what I understand, they hit the Aldi shelves in November. So, at this point, it’s prob slim pickins. You’d be fortunate to find one remaining on an Aldi shelf, at this point. It appears to be an Aldi Find item; so, they may come back into the rotation in the future.

  10. I just found mine at Aldi for 37.99!!
I couldn’t be happier. Perfect in our living room for some wine & water & soda.
