It’s summer vacation and a time when parents are looking for inexpensive fun activities to keep the kids occupied, especially outdoors. Aldi rotates larger outdoor recreation products into its stock, including swimming pools, giant sprinklers, splash pads, trampolines, and swings. But if you don’t have the space or the budget for bigger toys, Aldi also sells various smaller outdoor fun items such as balls, hopper toys, and even . . . a device that blows a continuous stream of soap bubbles.

Bee Happy Bubble Blaster

The Bee Happy Bubble Blaster (product code 49893) cost $6.99 at the time of publication. It comes with one bubble blaster, one bottle of bubble solution, and 3 AA batteries.

This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so after this sells out at your local store, it’s gone. Bee Happy is an exclusive Aldi house brand that includes toys and products such as stuffed animals, craft Advent calendars, and more.

Here’s more info on the bubble blaster:

  • Designs include a Dinosaur, Unicorn, Narwhal, or Shark (we bought the Unicorn)
  • Dino and Unicorn Bubble Blasters have light and sound features
  • Includes batteries and 4-oz. bubble solution
  • Simply attach the bubble solution bottle and play
  • Up to 3,000 bubbles in 5 minutes
  • For ages 3+
  • Made in China

This bubble blaster was a hit with our kid testers. We found that we had to hold the trigger and pull it a few times for at least one minute to get the solution up the straw and into the wand, as opposed to the 30 seconds the package instructions state. So if you don’t get bubbles at first, keep pulling the trigger for a little longer.

If you are having trouble achieving a good amount of bubbles, try rinsing the wand with warm water by placing the bubble blaster’s “straw” in a cup of warm water, pressing the trigger, and holding for 1 minute while the gun self-cleans on the inside. It’s also recommended that you rinse the bubble blaster with warm water before and after each use.

The wand and light.

My kids used about half of the bottle of bubble solution in less than 10 minutes of play, so this will go through bubble solution pretty quickly and you’ll want to make sure you have more solution to refill it. On the plus side, it puts out a good amount of bubbles.

The battery compartment.

Our Unicorn blaster makes whinnying horse noises and plays music, but it’s not annoyingly loud. I’m not sure what kinds of noises some of the other bubble blasters such as the Narwhal or Shark make. There’s also a small green light at the opening where the wand is and where the bubbles come out. It’s not so noticeable when playing in bright daylight, though.

If you have multiple kids and got each one their own blaster so they could run around and “blast” each other, this seems like a toy that could keep kids entertained for a decent amount of time. It’s also a toy that we might bring along on camping trips (its small size makes it easy to pack), park outings, or other outdoor activities.

The only thing that remains to be seen is how long this lasts. We’ll update this post as necessary with any new information.

The Verdict:

The Bee Happy Bubble Blaster comes in Unicorn, Shark, Dino, or Narwhal designs, and it includes a small bottle of bubble solution and batteries. It’s easy to assemble, and the music and sounds it plays are not too loud. It goes through bubble solution fairly fast, so you’ll want to keep some extra around for refills.

  1. I purchased 2 Bee Happy bubble blasters. Both quit working after 2 days. Very disappointed!
