I’m a sucker for a good dish of ice cream, and Aldi sells a couple of holiday-themed ice cream flavors every year that catch my eye.
Belmont Egg Nog Ice Cream and Belmont Peppermint Bark Ice Cream sold for $2.89 for a 1.5-quart (1.41L) container at the time of publication. They are limited-time ALDI Finds, so you’ll want to get them before they sell out.
Their primary ingredients are milk, cream, skim milk, buttermilk, and sugar, plus their respective peppermint bark or egg nog components. They advertise that they contain no high fructose corn syrup, but they do contain corn syrup. They also have a number of processed ingredients, including carob bean gum, tara gum, guar gum, and carageenan.
If you want ice cream made only with simple, whole ingredients, your best bet at Aldi is the Specially Selected ice cream, which is available in vanilla and chocolate.
Belmont Egg Nog Ice Cream
This ice cream consists of egg nog-flavored ice cream with nutmeg spice, and it tastes like Dean’s egg nog in ice cream form. It’s smooth, creamy, and has that classic nutmeg flavor. I can see the nutmeg flecks in the ice cream itself.

One 2/3-cup serving nets you 180 calories, 9 grams of total fat (12% of your daily value), 6 grams of saturated fat (30% DV), 70 mg of cholesterol (23% DV), 65 mg of sodium (3% DV), 23 grams of total carbohydrates (8% DV), 19 grams of total sugars, 15 grams of added sugars (30% DV), and 3 grams of protein.
Those with allergies should be aware it contains milk and egg.
Belmont Peppermint Bark Ice Cream
This ice cream consists of peppermint ice cream with peppermint bark pieces. It does not have pieces of hard peppermint candy in it, but it does have a generous amount of white chocolate-like peppermint bark flakes that add interesting texture and melt in your mouth.

One 2/3-cup serving nets you 210 calories, 12 grams of total fat (15% of your daily value), 8 grams of saturated fat (40% DV), 35 mg of cholesterol (12% DV), 55 mg of sodium (2% DV), 24 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV), 21 grams of total sugars, 17 grams of added sugars (34% DV), and 3 grams of protein.
Those with allergies should be aware it contains milk and soy.
The Verdict:
Aldi’s Belmont Egg Nog Ice Cream and Belmont Peppermint Bark Ice Cream are good choices if you’re looking to add a little holiday cheer when you indulge in ice cream. The egg nog ice cream tastes just like Dean’s egg nog, while the peppermint bark ice cream has plenty of peppermint bark flakes. It’s difficult to pick which flavor is best, so get both!
Love peppermint bark ice-cream however Aldi only get aa few packages? cannot get for Christmas?
Please tell me Aldi is bringing back peppermint bark ! Absolutely my favorite ice-cream!!!! If so, when should I start looking for it?

Has anyone else noticed that Aldi has changed the “brand” name of its 48 ounce containers of ice cream from BELMONT to SUNDAE SHOPPE? Maybe it’s just me, but I think the flavor of its Butter Pecan variety has changed along with the name, perhaps a different supplier.
Too bad. I was under the impression that the Sundae Shoppe brands was reserved for its specialty offerings, such as ice cream bars, cakes, etc. The Belmont-branded butter pecan had a flavor no other ice cream supplier could match.
Sundae Shoppe nowhere near the taste quality of Belmont brand which is unmatched. Sundae Shoppe is so very very average
