Another item I’ve seen devoted Aldi fans rave about is the maple leaf creme cookies that show up during the fall months. I was initially hesitant to try these cookies. I love real maple syrup on my waffles and prefer it over the flavored corn syrup that’s more commonly served, but I wasn’t sure I wanted maple syrup in my cookies. When the cookies returned to store shelves this year, though, I finally decided to give them a try.
And wow. I don’t regret it.
Benton’s Maple Leaf Creme Cookies cost $1.99 for an 11.4-oz. box at the time of publication. The box contains about 14 cookies, or 14 servings, packed in a plastic tray.
They are a Seasonal Favorite, which means they are in stores for a few months each year, usually hitting the shelves at the same time when a lot of other fall foods arrive at Aldi. They stick around longer than an Aldi Find (Special Buy) but are not available all year, so if you really can’t bear to be without these, stock up while they’re in stores.
The package says these cookies have “a smooth and flavorful maple flavored creme filling” and are made with real maple syrup. The box also says these cookies are “a perfect accompaniment to coffee or simply delicious to enjoy on their own.”
The cookies are kosher and are a product of Canada.

Ingredients are: enriched wheat flour (wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), sugar, shortening (palm oil, canola oil, modified palm oil), invert syrup, natural flavor, salt maple syrup, sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate, and soy lecithin.
If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain wheat and soy. They may contain milk, egg, and tree nuts (coconut).
These cookies pack a caloric punch, with 110 calories in one cookie. One cookie also has 5 grams of total fat (6% DV), 2 grams of saturated fat (10% DV), 16 grams of total carbohydrates (6% DV), and 9 grams of added sugars (18% DV).
These maple cookies are truly delicious. The cookie is buttery and crisp, and the creme filling has a light but not overwhelming maple flavor. The cookies are also aromatic, with a nice but not overly strong maple scent. They are a creamy sandwich cookie with vanilla and maple notes.
These are also satisfyingly large cookies, and it doesn’t feel too depriving to eat only one … although they’re so good you may find yourself craving more. They are perfect on their own as a snack, or as the box states, they are a great complement to a hot drink such as coffee or tea.
The Verdict:
Benton’s Maple Leaf Creme Cookies are a popular fall treat at Aldi. They are crisp sandwich cookies with a creamy filling with light maple notes. We recommend enjoying them with a hot seasonal drink.
I’m glad you finally tried them, Rachael! I first tried the Trader Joe’s version before Aldi carried them, but since the nearest Trader Joe’s is about 32 miles away, this is a more (dangerous) way to get my fix. I have to have an unsweetened beverage to wash these down, though.
These are not as good as they look, but they are cute.

Taste is subjective, but I tried them because I thought they were cute and I absolutely agree as to why they are a seasonal favorite. They are delicious! You described them perfectly about the flavor and texture. I love that the cream filling is substantial, unlike other brands where they are with passing time, skimping on the cream filling. Great review. I love them and can’t wait until they are back in stores!
