A few years ago, I bought some cute jack-o-lantern cookies at Aldi’s cousin, Trader Joe’s. A staple of the fall season, TJ’s Halloween Joe Joe’s Cookies feature a creamy filling sandwiched between two “pumpkin faced” chocolate cookies. I used to think these cookies were just a Trader Joe’s thing. Then Aldi dropped some chocolate pumpkin-faced cookies in its middle aisle this year. I’m not sure whether they’re made by the same manufacturer, but the Aldi cookies and the Trader Joe’s cookies look pretty similar.
Benton’s Pumpkin Face Creme Filled Cookies cost $1.99 for a 10.5-ounce box at the time of publication. These are a product of Canada, and the package declares they are “great for dipping.”
These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. (And Aldi won’t ship them to you after they sell out at your local store.)
Ingredients are: enriched wheat flour, sugar, canola oil, cocoa powder, palm oil, wheat starch, invert sugar syrup, natural flavors, sodium bicarbonate, salt, soy lecithin, and color (annatto, turmeric).
If you’re watching out for allergens, these contain wheat and soy. They may contain milk, egg, and coconut.

There are about 12 two-cookie servings in a box. Two cookies will net you 120 calories, 5 grams of total fat (6% DV), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% DV), no cholesterol, 115 mg of sodium (5% DV), 19 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), 9 grams of added sugars (18% DV), and 1 gram of protein.
These are good cookies. The chocolate cookie parts are crisp, while the filling is sweet, and I appreciate how the filling uses natural ingredients like turmeric for its orange color. I wish these cookies had a little more creamy filling, but otherwise I’m not complaining. Perfect for a Halloween dessert spread, the lunch box, or an afternoon snack. Don’t forget to pour yourself a glass of apple cider to wash the cookies down with.

Benton’s Pumpkin Face Creme Filled Cookies look a lot like some pumpkin-faced chocolate cookies that Aldi’s cousin, Trader Joe’s, also sells during the fall. These are cute chocolatey cookies that will brighten your day.
