Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos

Sometimes the specials that show up on the shelves at Aldi are unique and unexpected, like piñata cakes or futons . . . or, mostly recently, stuffed nachos.

Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos

Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos cost $3.99 for a 14-ounce box at the time of publication.

These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. (And no, Aldi won’t ship them to you.)

These come in Queso of Beef & Cheese flavors. Each box contains about five 4-piece servings (82 grams).

If you’re watching out for allergens, both flavors contain egg, milk, and wheat. They’re also very processed and not at all a health food, but that’s to be expected with anything that involves nachos.

They can be oven baked or air fried.

To bake, preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Evenly space the frozen nachos on a flat or perforated baking sheet and bake for 9-11 minutes.

To heat in the air fryer, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees. Place a single layer of frozen nachos in the basket and cook for 6 minutes.

Regardless of which cooking method you use, the nachos should be cooked to a minimum of 160 degrees, and you should remove them from the oven or air fryer if they begin to puff up.

Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos

Both flavors of stuffed nachos after air frying.

I air fried these, and when I served them to my family, their first remark was that they looked — and tasted — like a nacho version of toasted ravioli. The seasoned outer breading is soft and chewy, while the inside is filled with gooey cheese similar to jarred queso dip, and the beef flavor also includes finely ground meat mixed in with the filling. There isn’t a huge amount of filling in these, but it was enough, and they’d be pretty messy if they had more filling. Both flavors have a slight kick to them, but some of us thought the beef and cheese variety was a bit more spicy. We had these for lunch, but they would also make a good appetizer or side item as part of a taco-themed dinner.

Here’s more information on each flavor.

The Verdict:

Casa Mamita Stuffed Nachos feature an outer breading that is similar to what you’d find with toasted ravioli. Inside is a gooey queso filling with a consistency similar to nacho cheese dip, and you can get these stuffed nachos with queso or beef and cheese fillings. They’re unique and make a good occasional snack, lunch, or side item for a meal.

  1. Thank you for reviewing and posting the nutrition label!! I needed to input the calories but couldn’t get the box. I tried the nacho cheese flavor and it tasted great microwaved, air frying and baking would probably make it crunchier but the flavoring on the bread is amazing.

  2. These were back in stores the week of March 13th, 2024!
