Choceur Belgian Chocolate Apples

Several years ago, Aldi introduced some chocolate pumpkins during the fall season. These adorable little gourmet chocolates came in a range of brown and orange colors, and they had unique creamy chocolate, caramel, or coffee-flavored fillings. Aldi brings those chocolate pumpkins back every autumn, and they’re a nice treat for sharing with a friend or two or for giving as a small gift.

This year, I spotted another product at Aldi alongside the chocolate pumpkins. This time, Aldi is also selling chocolate apples. What could be better than both pumpkins and apples during the fall? I bought a box of the new chocolate apples to try.

Choceur Assorted Belgian Chocolate Apples

Choceur Assorted Belgian Chocolate Apples cost $3.99 for a 4.4-ounce box at the time of publication. With nine chocolate apples per package, that comes out to about 44 cents per apple.

These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

These are a product of Belgium, and they’re made with Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa. The chocolate apples come in three different flavors: light green has a cookie dough filling, dark brown has an almond cream filling, and the cream-colored apples have a chocolate mousse filling. The back of the box features helpful images showing what flavors are inside each colored apple.

If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain wheat, milk, soy, and tree nuts (coconut, almond). They may contain eggs and other tree nuts.

Cute chocolate apples.

These chocolate apples are very cute, with nice details including apple stems and leaves. The neutral fall-themed colors are a good touch as well. These are even pretty enough to serve on a decorative plate or as part of a charcuterie board.

Cut open these chocolate apples and you’ll find creamy fillings in each one, and different flavors depending on what color you choose to eat. Take note that these are made of milk chocolate and white chocolate. There is no dark chocolate here.

The light green apples contain a cookie dough flavored filling, and it really does taste like cookie dough, and it even has some crunchy bits reminiscent of a crispy cookie. The dark brown apples contain an almond cream filling, which tastes chocolaty with hints of almond flavor. The cream-colored apples contain a chocolate mousse filling and have a classic chocolate flavor and taste somewhat like a truffle.

In terms of texture, these apples are soft and easy to bite into, and the chocolate is very smooth and melts nicely in the mouth.

The Verdict:

Choceur Assorted Belgian Chocolate Apples are cute apple-shaped chocolates. The chocolate apples come in three different colors, each with a different flavor: cookie dough, almond cream, and chocolate mousse. Perfect for fans of milk chocolate or white chocolate. These also would make a nice small gift.
