Aldi loves imitating name brands. You can find an Aldi private label product to substitute for a lot of name brands, whether you want stuffing for your holiday dinner, or breakfast cereal, or … maybe some candy bars. This month, as a limited-time offering for Halloween, Aldi introduced its own versions of several brand-name candy bars. The packaging is fairly nondescript, so you might not realize it from the way the wrappers look, but these are the generic equivalent of Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, and 3 Musketeers.
Choceur Legends Fun Size Mix cost $3.79 for a 20.25-oz. bag containing about 35 fun-sized candy bars. That comes out to about 11 cents per candy bar.
These candy bars have UTZ certified cocoa, which supports socially responsible and environmentally friendly cocoa farming, and these candy bars are a product of Germany.
They are only at Aldi for a short time for the Halloween season, and I’m not sure if Aldi will keep them around afterward, so if you want them, don’t wait.

Read on for a look at each candy type and what people in my house thought of them.
Choceur Legends Peanut & Caramel Candy Bar
This is the Aldi version of a Snickers bar. It tastes pretty close to me. One family member thought the peanuts were smaller and more finely chopped than in a Snickers. It might be a softer candy bar overall compared to Snickers as well. Otherwise, it seems to be a decent imitation.
If you’re watching out for allergens, this has milk, soy, wheat, peanuts, and egg. It may contain tree nuts.
A two-bar serving has 190 calories, 10 grams of total fat (13% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (20% DV), 20 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), and 14 grams of added sugars (28% DV).
Choceur Legends Nougat and Caramel Candy Bar
This is the Aldi version of a Milky Way. I don’t think it has the same smooth texture as a real Milky Way, and the caramel is less chewy, but it’s not bad on its own merits.
In terms of allergens, it has milk, soy, wheat, and egg. It may contain peanuts and tree nuts.
A two-bar serving has 170 calories, 7 grams of total fat (9% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (20% DV), 25 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV), and 19 grams of added sugars (38% DV).
Choceur Legends Cookie & Caramel Candy Bar
This is the Aldi take on a Twix candy bar. I thought this was the weakest of the four types of candy bars in this package. It’s not bad on its own, but it’s not as much like Twix as I hoped. The cookie portion is much softer than Twix, and not as buttery.
Allergens in this include milk, soy, and wheat. It may also have peanuts, tree nuts, and egg.
A two-bar serving has 140 calories, 7 grams of total fat (9% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (20% DV), 19 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), and 11 grams of added sugars (22% DV).
Choceur Legends Nougat & Chocolate Candy Bar
This is Aldi’s take on 3 Musketeers, and it’s probably the closest to it’s name brand counterpart of all of the types of candy bars in this bag. It’s chocolate-covered nougat, like a 3 Musketeers.
Allergens in this are milk, soy, wheat, and egg. It may also have peanuts and tree nuts.
A two-bar serving has 150 calories, 5 grams of total fat (6% DV), 3 grams of saturated fat (15% DV), 23 grams of total carbohydrates (8% DV), and 18 grams of added sugars (36% DV).
The Verdict:
Choceur Legends candy bars are Aldi’s attempt at imitating popular name-brand candy bars: Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, and 3 Musketeers. None of these taste exactly like the name brands, and my family still prefers the name-brand versions over these, but on their own they are not bad candy bars. Opinions in my family differed, but I think the Snickers and 3 Musketeers imitations probably come to closest to their name-brand counterparts, with the Twix imitation being the least like its name-brand counterpart.

I recently tried the Choceur Legends Peanut & Caramel Candy Bar and could immediately pick out the differences.
Choceur is relatively close due to having the same ingredients. BUT the difference in peanut sizes make a difference in taste as well as the Snicker’s caramel is more creamier and flavorful. The chocolate on the Choceur bar is harder and tends to crack, break and fall away creating crumbs.
Choceur isn’t a bad candy bar, I honestly enjoyed it. BUT when you try to compare it to Snickers, you’re quickly reminded that this is a knock-off more than anything else.
If a Snicker’s wasn’t around, this would be an acceptable alternative.
And yes, the Twix variant was nowhere close.
