Choceur Milk Chocolate Toffee Pretzels

This is a guest post by Sori.

Everyone raves about the Choceur peanut butter cups at Aldi, but I think they have just met their opponent: Milk Chocolate Covered Toffee Pretzels. I ended up running into these delicacies in the ALDI Find (Special Buy) section after trudging away from the chocolate section when I couldn’t find the regular Choceur chocolate covered pretzels.

These toffee chocolate covered pretzels are $1.99 for a 6.5-ounce bag. I’ve never seen this variation of chocolate covered pretzels, so these immediately caught my eye. As it turns out, these are a seasonal fall item, which explains its pretty fall packaging.

Most chocolate covered pretzel companies will skimp on the quality of chocolate because they think the chocolate is being masked with the pretzels, but this is not the case for Aldi. In fact, I grew up on Flipz chocolate covered pretzels (which go for $3.29 for a 7.5-oz bag at Target). But comparing now, the first ingredient on Flipz chocolate covered pretzels is wheat flour. The first ingredient on these ones from Aldi is milk chocolate!

These are the perfect balance of salty and sweet with crunchy little toffee pieces to add texture to the party of flavors. The pretzels were perfectly crunchy, and it’s difficult for pretzels to not go stale when they’re covered by a thick coating of actual chocolate! I am a huge fan of Aldi chocolate because it is so luxurious for its price. So imagine that same richness but covering a crunchy salty pretzel with toffee bits to top it off. And Aldi is very generous with the toffee pieces, too.

I do think that the taste/texture of the pretzel was overpowered by the chocolate and the toffee, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. These chocolate covered pretzels are more of a candy bar rather than a snack, making it a fairly sweet indulgence. And to top it off, I was so excited to find pieces of toffee at the bottom of the bag. It’s funny how Aldi makes the bag resealable, like it will last more than one sitting!

The Verdict:

This seasonal spin on chocolate covered pretzels from Aldi didn’t even last an entire night in my household! If you have anything remotely close to a sweet tooth, you need to find these at your local Aldi and buy them or I will!

  1. I absolutely LOVE these! I bought one bag and became addicted. I am down to my last bag in my pantry and I am so sad knowing they are not available at my local stores right now.

  2. These are coming back to Aldi the week of April 3rd, 2024, while supplies last!
