Aldi fans on social media rarely steer me wrong. For a few months I’ve been seeing people post about scoring bags of pub pretzels from the discount grocer. When I spotted the pub pretzels on my local Aldi store’s shelves recently, I decided to see what the hype was about. These savory garlic-and-onion-seasoned pretzels did not disappoint.
Clancy’s Pub Style Pretzels cost $1.99 for a 12-ounce bag at the time of publication.
These are listed as an Aldi Find at my local store, which means Aldi does not sell them all year, but because I frequently see Aldi fans talking about them online, I think they reappear often throughout the year. If you can’t find them in your local store, just wait a bit and they’re likely to show up at some point.
These pretzels are seasoned with garlic and onion, and the package describes them as “bold” and “zesty.” They also are kosher.
The ingredients list is fairly lengthy, with the first few ingredients being enriched wheat flour, vegetable oil, salt, corn syrup, corn starch, whey, maltodextrin, and garlic powder. To view the complete ingredients list, click the photo below.

There are 12 servings per bag, with about 15 pretzels (28 grams) making up one serving. One serving has 120 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat (4% DV), 400 mg of sodium (17% DV), 20 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), and 0 grams of added sugars.

My family loved these pretzels. They have all the satisfying crunch of traditional pretzels, plus they’re coated with a powdery seasoning with notes of garlic and onion. The seasoning is not overwhelming, but just enough to add some zest.
It was hard to stop eating these, so I probably won’t buy them often. However, when we need snacks for road trips, parties, or other special occasions, these will certainly hit the spot.
The Verdict:
Clancy’s Pub Style Pretzels are crispy and have a delicious dusting of garlic and onion seasoning. They’re well worth trying.
The bag are horrible quality and are made very cheap every time I open them they always rip and I end up having to put them in a other plastic bag I will never buy Clancy’s pretzels ever again!
My new favorite pretzel. Hope my local aldi won’t sell out anytime soon.

I do wish Aldi would make these a STOCK item! Best pretzels ever!
I wish these had the flavorings baked into the pretzel…instead they add seasoning coating at the end. Result is the seasoning covers your fingers. This is common, but not what I hoped. Good flavor, just not with flavor baked into the product.

One of my favorite brand & flavor of pretzels of all time. I should stock up next time I go. Can’t make everyone happy, it appears.
I am a fan of these pretzels and I find that I can stop after 15 when I have them with some other snacks like cherry tomatoes, hummus and dried pineapple. I wish they had this flavor in the pretzel slims line.
