Popcorn is a great snack, and there are all kinds of ways to eat it. You can enjoy it plain (for the health conscious), salted and buttered, or coated with savory seasonings. Or you can have a sweetened version for dessert.
Aldi sells all kinds of popcorn either as a year-round Regular Buy or as limited-time Aldi Finds. The discount grocer sells several types of microwavable popcorn bags all the time, and occasionally they sell popcorn kernels and popcorn seasoning.
Also, during the holidays, they sell a few types of chocolate drizzled caramel corn perfect for serving during celebrations or just for snacking on.
Clancy’s White and Dark Drizzled Caramel Corn cost $2.99 for a 16-oz. bag at the time of publication.
This is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi doesn’t sell its specials online, so once your local store sells out, it’s gone until the next year’s holiday season.
The package describes this as “caramel popcorn drizzled with white and dark chocolate flavored coating.” It also is kosher.
One bag has 16 servings. One 1/2 cup (28 gram) serving has 130 calories, 4 grams of saturated fat (6% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (20% DV), 75 mg of sodium (3% DV), 21 grams of total carbohydrates (8% DV), 16 grams of total sugars, 15 grams of added sugars (30% DV), and 1 gram of protein.
Ingredients are corn syrup, sugar, popcorn, molasses, salt, butter, canola oil, natural flavor, soy lecithin (emulsifier). The dark chocolate coating is made with sugar, vegetable oil (palm kernel and/or palm), cocoa powder processed with alkalai, soy lecithin (emulsifier), and vanilla. The white chocolate coating is made with sugar, palm kernel oil, whey powder (milk), nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin, salt, and vanilla.
If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains milk and soy. It may also contain peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, and eggs.
My family loves this popcorn, and it doesn’t last long in our house. It’s a favorite snack of ours, and I’ve been known to gift it to others during the holidays, tucking it into a gift bag filled with other presents and goodies. It’s always appreciated.
The Verdict:
Clancy’s White and Dark Drizzled Caramel Corn is an irresistible treat Aldi usually sells during the winter holiday season. This caramel corn is coated with dark chocolate and white chocolate and is perfect for snacking. Recommended.
Actually, that symbol indicates that the entire product is Kosher and that the product contains dairy. One of the rules of Kosher is that meat and dairy items cannot be eaten together, so people who are Kosher would use that symbol to know that this product can be eaten only with other dairy foods. Kosher Pareve or sometimes spelled Kosher Parve means that the food does not contain either meat or dairy and can thus be eaten with either meat or dairy meals.

I realize the Clancy White and Dark Carmel Corn is a seasonal item.
I would hope that Aldi’s would consider selling it for other “seasons” like Valentine’s Day and Easter. I made smaller gift bags with it for
Christmas and the response was “WOW”.
I just purchased this product (12-11-2021). I love caramel corn but rarely treat myself with it. Perhaps they have changed their product manufacturing process from 2020. The picture on the bag showed lightly drizzled frosting over caramel popcorn. Inside I found globs of coating or frosting with barely visible popcorn. I really wanted to like this product. But I couldn’t really taste the popcorn or the caramel. The coating was applied too heavily. The only recognizable flavor that came through was sugar, not even chocolate.
This carmel corn is a winner !
That said, the period of time this is available is way too short.
Holiday snacking can run from early Nov into Feb., Valentines Day.
The availability should span that time block at least.
I agree with the John from 12/20/202. The span for this delicious caramel corn with white /chocolate drizzled should at least be around for Valentine Day not just Christmas time.
I live close to 3 Aldi’s and this chocolate drizzle caramel corn has not been available this year at all. We were really looking forward to purchasing some this holiday season. Very disappointed
This is product was a big disappointment! It tasted good, but it is full of hard bits, that could be tooth chipping. I was going to use it for a party, but after taste testing it, and having to remove hard bits from my mouth, that looked like maybe they were parts of corn kernels, that maybe did not pop, I threw the rest away. No broken teeth wanted at my party.
That has been a problem with some other types of popcorn snacks I’ve gotten from Aldi as well. It’s too bad because otherwise it’s delicious.
I have always liked this product. But, this week I was disappointed when I opened the bag to find the popcorn was completely covered in dark and white chocolate. Did not look like the drizzled effect I was expecting. Was not pretty. Maybe it was put in the wrong bag or the person responsible didn’t understand the drizzle. 🙁
