Crane 3-Pack Reusable Snack Bags

I like going to Aldi for supplies to pack school or work lunches, from the food that goes into the lunch bags to the lunch bags themselves, plus all the small or large containers to hold everything. Some of the more recent lunch bag accessories at Aldi included sets of reusable snack bags and sandwich bags. I picked up some of the snack bags.

Crane Reusable Snack Bags

Crane Reusable Snack or Sandwich Bags (product code 700725) cost $4.99 each at the time of publication. They are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time.

They came packaged as a set of two sandwich bags or a set of three snack bags.

They’re BPA and PVC free and came in a large variety of colors and patterns. I opted for a set that includes two turquoise bags with white stars and one solid-colored turquoise bag.

The bags are washable, and it’s recommended that you hand wash them.

The packaging states these bags can be used for snacks, sandwiches, travel, home organization, and more. I hadn’t thought about using them for non-food purposes, but they are the right size for organizing small toiletries while traveling.

The bags open and close with a zipper, so they’re not going to be as airtight as a plastic container with a well-fitting lid. Your crackers will probably stay fresh if you’re eating them the same day, but I wouldn’t necessarily store food in these for longer than a day. Also, be aware that packing some foods such as fresh berries in these bags will probably stain them.

Of course, the advantage to these bags is that they’re reusable, so you don’t have to throw out single-use plastic sandwich bags. I often pack my family’s lunches in a variety of small hard plastic containers in order to cut down on single-use plastic waste, but hard plastic can be bulky, and it isn’t always easy to fit everything into a lunch bag. Where these reusable bags shine is in the fact that they take up very little space. For that reason, I like to have them as a tool in my lunch-packing arsenal.

The Verdict:

Crane Reusable Snack Bags are just the right size for on-the-go foods such as crackers, cookies, cut veggies, and more. Using these instead of traditional single-use plastic bags is a great way to reduce landfill waste.
