Crofton Pancake Pan

EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold a pancake pan again in November of 2023 and in February of 2024 for the same price of $9.99. Aldi also sold a pancake pan in February of 2023 for a higher price of $11.99.

My family recently discovered the pancake mix that Aldi sells, and it’s become a weekend breakfast standby. We add a little water to the mix, blend it together, and ladle it onto our griddle for quick and easy pancakes.

But now Aldi is helping us to up our pancake game with a special pancake-making pan. It has special molds that make griddle cakes imprinted with unicorns, dinosaurs, mermaids, rocket ships, and more, and I added it to my shopping list as soon as my kids and I spotted it in the weekly ad.

The Crofton Pancake Pan (product code 803675) cost $9.99 at the time of publication. Pancake pans like this with characters or images on them go for at least twice that price at other retailers, so the Aldi pan is definitely a bargain. It was sold alongside a crepe pan for the same price, which was basically just a flat round skillet. This post deals primarily with the pancake pan.

Both pans are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your store, they’re gone until next year.

(FYI: I went to my local store about 30 minutes after opening on the day specials hit the shelves, and there was only one pancake pan and two crepe pans on the shelf. I got the single pancake pan, and a woman in front of me in the checkout had one of the two crepe pans. Either my store didn’t get a large shipment or these pans were so popular they quickly sold out.)

The pancake pan makes small 3-inch pancakes in the following shapes:

Here’s more information about the pancake pan and the crepe pan from Aldi’s ad:

• The Adventure Pancake Pan is 0.5″  deep and made of heavy-duty cast Aluminum
• The 10.1″ Crepe Pan is made of heavy-duty Aluminum
• Both pans have an ergonomic-soft grip handle
• The pans are made with easy-to-clean Whitford QuanTanium nonstick coating
• The Crepe Pan is also great for giant pancakes
• Both pans are compatible with gas, electric, glass ceramic, and halogen stovetops

The ad also says that recipes are included, but my pancake pan did not come with any recipes.

In addition, the ad says these pans come with a two-year warranty, but there was no warranty information included with my pan. In fact, all the pan came with was a tiny bar code sticker on the bottom that states it was made in China and includes the manufacturing date (February of 2021) and product code number.

I visited the warranties and manuals section on Aldi’s website and found more information about the warranty for the Crofton Pancake Pan that was sold in 2020. It does indeed come with a two-year warranty. To get help, Aldi’s website says you can email support@productconcern.com or call 1-844-470-7970. The service address is: 5530 N Broadway Ave., Chicago, IL 60640.

According to Google Street View, that is the address for MACVAD LTD. MACVAD’s website says they offer “global sourcing and supply solutions.” The company has locations around the world, but U.S. operations are based in Chicago.

As mentioned above, I made our pancakes using Aldi’s Aunt Maple’s Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix. You could also use Aldi’s Aunt Maple’s Protein Pancake and Waffle Mix.

Pancakes were a cinch to make using this pan. I sprayed each mold on the pan with some cooking spray and then dropped a large spoonful of pancake batter into each spot. They were ready to flip after a few minutes, and it wasn’t too hard to work a corner of a small spatula under them to flip them. I also had a butter knife on hand to help flip them if I needed it, but they didn’t stick at all.

The end result was a plateful of cute, small pancakes with images on each side. We topped off our pancakes with Irish butter, and Specially Selected 100% Pure Maple Syrup and Aunt Maple’s Syrup. We also served them alongside scrambled eggs and Aldi’s Breakfast Best Breakfast Meatballs for a complete meal.

Given how easy this pan is to use, I think it will see plenty of action in our kitchen.

The Verdict:

The Crofton Pancake Pan is easy to use and creates pancakes with whimsical images on them, including unicorns, dinosaurs, mermaids, robots, rocket ships, stars, and rain clouds. If you have kids or are a kid at heart, this pan will add some fun to breakfast time.
