Crofton Two-Pack 14-Ounce Hydration Bottles

Single-use plastic water bottles are not in style anymore because of recycling challenges, and Aldi offers no shortage of reusable water bottles so you can stay hydrated without filling up landfills. Among Aldi’s more recent water bottle options were the Crofton Two-Pack 14-Ounce Hydration Bottles.

These water bottles sold for $8.99 for a two-pack, or $4.50 per bottle, at the time of publication. They are ALDI Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a limited time.

They came in several color and design choices, including blue kid-friendly patterns, green geometric designs, or pink unicorns. Because my daughters will be using these, I got the pink unicorns. Aldi knows how to stay on top of trends, such as unicorns. My pack came with one bottle covered with unicorns and rainbows with a pink lid, and the other bottle was plain with a pink lid.

These bottles had a feature I was specifically seeking: my kids often are allowed to keep water with them at their desks at school, but it has to be in a clear container (to ensure that no one spends all day sneaking sips of sugary soda). The water bottle with the unicorn print is clear plastic, while the other bottle has a faint pink tint but is light enough that I consider it clear.

The water bottles are freezer safe, top rack dishwasher safe, BPA free, and made in China.

These are ideal for kids because of their smaller 14-ounce size; they can fit in a lunch box or side pocket of a backpack. They also feature a clip-on handle for easy carrying, and, in fact, the bottle can be clipped onto backpacks or lunchboxes.

For parents worried about germs, the water bottles have a protective spout cover that opens and closes with the touch of a button to keep dirt off for cleaner drinking, and a simple lock mechanism prevents unintended opening.

The water bottle on the left has its spout closed. The water bottle on the right has its spout open. The little blue button on the bottle on the right is the locking mechanism.

The only downside is that they are not double walled or insulated, so if you put a cold drink in them or if you put ice in them, they’re going to sweat, and your drink will not stay cold for as long.

Otherwise, these are some nice little water bottles. And my kids approve of the unicorns.

The Verdict:

The ALDI Find Crofton Two-Pack 14-Ounce Hydration Bottles are small enough to fit easily in a lunch box, and kids will like the fun designs. Helpful features on each bottle include a clip-on handle for attaching to a backpack or lunch bag, plus an easy-open spout cover that can lock to keep dirt and germs off. The only disadvantage is that they’re not double walled or insulated.

  1. I just returned the ones I purchased, the anchor on the silicone spout broke loose and the spout came off. I hear another company has a recall on a like product for the same reason and because it is a choking hazard. Unfortunately the Aldi associate I dealt with was not very interested in the reason I was returning the product. So I dont know if it will be reported or not. I was given little over 3 dollars on the return after the associate denied they sold the product and because I didnt have a receipt.
