EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold this toothbrush again in December of 2023 for $14.99, which is $5 less than what we paid for it in 2022. This is yet another time we’ve seen Aldi lower the prices on Aldi Finds in 2023.

Members of my household have used Aldi toothbrushes from time to time. We’ve tried Regular Buy manual toothbrushes that Aldi sells all the time, and they’re pretty good. We’ve also tried limited-time special toothbrushes from Aldi, including sonic rechargeable toothbrushes, power toothbrushes, children’s licensed electric toothbrushes, and travel toothbrushes.

Aldi sells some name brand dental hygiene products such as Crest toothpaste, but most Aldi toothbrushes are sold under the Dentiguard brand. Dentiguard is not a company but rather is the private label Aldi uses for dental hygiene items.

Recently, Aldi sold a sonic electric toothbrush for children. The toothbrush features smaller brush heads for kids’ mouths.

The Dentiguard Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush (Product Code: 707585) cost $19.99 at the time of publication. That’s on the lower end of prices for kids’ sonic electric toothbrushes on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi brings them back at some later point. You can’t order Aldi products online if they aren’t in stock at your local store.

The contents of the box: the toothbrush with four brush heads, a battery, a cap/holder, a manual, and a warranty card.

Inside the box, you’ll find:

  • 1 toothbrush handle
  • 1 AAA battery (the manual states battery life is 120 days when used twice a day for 2 minutes each time)
  • 1 brush/cap holder
  • 4 brush heads
  • A user manual
  • A warranty card

This toothbrush comes with a one-year warranty serviced by Brush Buddies, whose products are sold in various retailers from Walmart to Walgreens to Dollar General. Aldi has also sold Brush Buddies toothbrushes in the past. For after sales support, email support@brushbuddies.com or call 1-877-274-8358.

Using the Toothbrush:

Before using the toothbrush, you’ll need to put in the battery. Turn the battery cover at the base of the toothbrush handle with a coin to open the battery compartment. Then insert one new AAA battery with the (+) facing outside. Install the battery cover and turn it with a coin to secure it. It’s not the easiest thing to replace the battery compartment once you have a battery inside the toothbrush handle.

To brush teeth, wet the bristles and apply an appropriate amount of toothpaste. Place the toothbrush bristles against teeth. Press the power button to turn on and choose your mode:

  • First press — On/Standard mode
  • Second press — Sensitive mode
  • Third press: Off

Gently and slowly move the brush head across the teeth in small up and down motions. For best results, brush each quadrant for 30 seconds (smart timer will pulse — it essentially stops vibrating for 1-2 seconds) every 30 seconds when it’s time to switch quadrants). The toothbrush automatically turns off after 2 minutes. When finished brushing, rinse the toothbrush and store it in a ventilated and dry place.

To remove an old brush head, pull it away from the handle. To attach a new brush head, push it down over the metal stem. This toothbrush should only be used with Dentiguard sonic electric replacement brush heads. The brush head should be replaced every two to three months.

I bought this toothbrush for my older elementary schooler, and they enjoy using it. It’s got smaller brush heads that are ideal for kids. It’s easy to figure out how to navigate the button control, and the two-minute timer is a helpful feature to ensure kids are brushing for a good amount of time. The pulsing feature is a useful way to let kids know when it’s time to move on to a different area of the mouth as well.

The only thing that remains to be seen is how well this toothbrush holds up over time. I’ll update this post with any relevant new information as time goes on.

The Verdict:

The Dentiguard Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush is among the better deals out there on kids’ electric toothbrushes, and it comes with a total of four brush heads or a year’s supply. The toothbrush is easy to use with a single control button that offers a regular brushing mode or a sensitive brushing mode. The toothbrush pulses every 30 seconds to remind kids to move to a different quadrant or area of the mouth. The toothbrush also automatically turns off after two minutes. It’s a hit in our house so far.
