Deutsche Küche Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup

Last Updated on October 22, 2021

Aldi sells German food a few times a year for a short time, and their Deutsche Küche private label German products are popular among many customers. Here at Aldi Reviewer, we get readers who sometimes ask if we know specific dates when Aldi will stock German items such as schnitzel, pickles, or mustard. We don’t have access to that information (although Aldi currently has a number of German products on its shelves at the time this post was published, although they won’t stick around for long). However, we can tell you that we’ve found a few German canned soups that Aldi actually does appear to stock all the time.

In the canned goods aisle, among all the other soups, I recently found three different Deutsche Küche soups: Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup, Harvest Potato Soup, and Hearty Pea Soup. Today, I’m looking at the Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup.

Deutsche Kuche Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup

Deutsche Küche Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup cost $2.09 for a 28-ounce can at the time of publication. This is imported from Germany, and the label describes it as “a zesty blend of spaghetti and garden vegetables.”

Ingredients are: water, potatoes, white cabbage, carrots, egg spaghetti, peas, red and green peppers, onions, green beans, tomato paste, tomatoes, leek, salt, sugar, guar gum, spices, canola oil, artificial flavorings, yeast extract, and wheat flour.

If you’re avoiding allergens, this contains wheat, milk, and egg. It may contain soy, tree nuts (coconut), fish (pollock, Atlantic salmon), and crustacean shellfish (shrimp, lobster, crab).

There are about three servings in one can. A one-cup serving has 90 calories, 0.5 grams of total fat (1% DV), no saturated fat, 5 mg of cholesterol (2% DV), 910 mg of sodium (39% DV), 17 grams of total carbohydrates (6% DV), 3 grams of dietary fiber (11% DV), 5 grams of total sugars, 1 gram of added sugars (1% DV), and 3 grams of protein.

The soup can be heated on the stove top or in the microwave.

To heat on the stove, empty the contents into a pot, heat, and then serve. Do not boil.

To microwave, empty the contents into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on high for 2 minutes, stir, and then heat on medium for 1 minute.

This is a classic canned veggie soup, with the interesting addition of soft noodles with a similar texture to what you’d find in canned chicken noodle soup. I also appreciate how this has some veggies I don’t typically see in many canned soups, including white cabbage and even leeks. My family thought this soup was okay but not something they’d ask for again, and that’s because we typically don’t eat many canned soups except for a limited few such as tomato soup or New England clam chowder. If you like canned vegetable soup, though, this is a good option to try.

The Verdict:

Deutsche Küche Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup is from Germany and features soft spaghetti noodles and various veggies in a flavorful broth. If you’re looking for a canned vegetable soup that’s a little different, try this one.

  1. Love this soup. Had some for lunch today.

  2. I look for this soup every time I’m at aldi’s, very good soup.

  3. Deutsche Kuche Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup – what about the vegetables and broth in this soup required them to add artificial flavoring?

It’s nothing special. Will not buy this one again.

The Pea soup and Potato soups were much good. Not sure if there’s artificial flavoring in them though.

Soup just seems like one of the products that should have plenty of good flavors from all natural ingredients.

  4. The soups are really good but have way too much sodium.

  5. I tried the Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup and it is way better than any thing I have ever made. Now I can not find it at Aldi’s. I am so very sad and frustrated. Amazon wants way too much $ for it. $20 for 2-28oz cans. WOW…..

  6. I really liked this soup and zhuzged it up with some garlic and pepper. Very nice for canned soup! Thanks Aldi!
