If you grew up during the 1980s or earlier, you probably spotted a lot of Tupperware when you attended parties or gatherings where food was involved.

My mom had a large plastic divided serving tray that was a staple of every holiday meal in our house. We loaded it up with sliced veggies, olives, pickles, and other munchies and set it out as an appetizer tray for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners. My grandmothers had similar serving trays.

I ended up with a secondhand Tupperware divided serving tray of my own at some point when I became an adult. It wasn’t a pretty serving tray, but it was practical, and mine even had a lid so I could easily transport it to parties.

Fast forward to today, and Tupperware trays are pretty vintage. I’ve mostly moved on to more trendy serving trays made of glass, ceramic, or colorful melamine.

Aldi has long been a grocer that likes to keep up with popular styles, and they are selling their own classy serving trays to replace those old plastic trays. The Aldi serving trays are made of multiple stoneware pieces that fit together on top of a bamboo tray. It’s not portable like the old Tupperware trays, but it gets points for style. You can load this tray up with fruit, veggies, chips and dip, or anything you can think of.

These Aldi serving trays actually look like some trays Target sells for more money. It’s no secret that Target knows how to tempt us with pretty home goods and kitchen accessories, but Aldi is even better at beating other retailers’ prices.

What We Know:

Crofton Divided Serving Tray

The Crofton Divided Serving Tray (Product Code: 705676) cost $14.99 at the time of publication. That’s quite a bit less than the $28 Target was asking for similar serving trays go for at Target at the time of writing.

If you want to complete the look, Aldi is also selling a limited-edition matching Crofton Porcelain Serving Bowl with Wood Lid for $24.99.

This tray is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone until Aldi decides to bring them back, if they ever bring them back. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

Crofton is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for various kitchen products, including filtration pitchers, barware sets, bed trays, and rotary graters.

Here’s more information about the tray, according to Aldi:

  • Includes 5 or 6 stoneware dishes and bamboo tray
  • Comes in Round or Square designs
  • Bowls are dishwasher and microwave safe

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased this serving tray, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We write open threads so our readers can talk about various Aldi products.
