Huntington Home 3-Wick Candles

Few things evoke a sense of comfort and home or help to set a seasonal mood better than a glowing scented candle. Quality candles can be expensive, though, with name-brand Bath & Body Works 3-wick candles running around $25 full price.

Enter Aldi, the retailer that sells what you what (usually) exactly when you want it. That includes scented candles appropriate to each season.

Aldi rolls out many candles at various times throughout the year as ALDI Finds (Special Buys) that are available for a limited time until they sell out. Some Aldi candles come in special novelty containers, including one shaped like a pumpkin that was popular last fall, or some small jar candles I bought a few years ago that looked like Mason canning jars. The most common candles seen at Aldi — and my favorites because they tend to burn evenly — are the Huntington Home 3-Wick Candles that come in clear glass containers.

During the spring and summer months, I’ve purchased 3-wick candles with scents such as Nectarines, Fresh Lemon, and Citrus Sunsets.

In the fall, I’ve found candles with scents such as Spiced Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream (it smelled so good that I already burned it all, which is why it’s not included in the photo above), and Leaves (a spicy fall-like scent).

And winter scents have included Cranberry, Hot Cocoa & Cream, Snowday, and First Snow (those last two scents are like peppermint with mild notes of vanilla). Appropriately, I lit the First Snow candle for the first time on the day we got our first snow of the season, and I amuse the kids when I burn the Snowday candle on days that actually are snow days and their schools have been called off.

Scents are a little different from year to year and some may not repeat, so each time you purchase a candle from Aldi, you may be getting something that’s a little different.

Aldi’s 3-wick candles are just $3.99 each, making them much cheaper than Bath & Body Works, Yankee Candle, and other name-brand candle sellers. Even if you buy name-brand candles on sale, it’s hard to beat Aldi’s price tag.

I have found the quality of Aldi’s 3-wick candles to be excellent, especially in more recent years. They smell great, and often when Aldi sells 3-wick candles, they offer a choice of three to four different scents, so I can usually find a scent I like. The candles burn evenly and have good thick wicks that don’t crumble easily or break off, and I’ve lost track of how many hours of burn time I get out of each candle because they last so long. I have half-burned seasonal fall and Christmas candles that I purchased more than a year ago that are still good for many more hours of burning.

I even found a blogger who burned Bath & Body Works candles and Aldi candles alongside each other, and the Aldi candles came out on top in terms of having a longer burn time. That makes me feel like my $3.99 is money well spent.

As always, no matter where you buy your candles, remember to burn them safely and don’t leave them unattended.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s Huntington Home 3-Wick Candles come in a variety of scents depending on the season. They smell good and burn for many hours, and they’re cheaper than most competitors’ candles. Highly recommended.
