EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold this in January of 2022 for $16.99, or $2 more than in 2020.
A home isn’t very cozy or comfortable without a few throw blankets to snuggle under while watching a movie on the couch or reading a book in an armchair, so we have a lot of blankets in my house. We always need spots to store those blankets, whether it’s in baskets, ottomans, or draped over the back of the couch.
One trend in blanket storage is the blanket ladder. Blanket ladders are not designed to be climbed, and we wouldn’t recommend using them to reach the top shelf in your closet. Instead, blanket ladders are specially designed for hanging blankets, throws, and quilts so they are out of your way when they’re not in use while also displaying them in an attractive manner.
For the first time in October of 2020, Aldi sold blanket ladders.
The Huntington Home Blanket Ladder (product code 702611) cost $14.99 at the time of publication.
This is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means each Aldi store gets just one shipment that will be available for a short time. Once the ladders sell out, there’s no way to order them, and your best bet is to hope that Aldi brings the ladders back next year.
Features for the ladder include:
- Measures 15″ x 69″
- Available in Black or White
- No-tool assembly
- Holds up to 20 lbs.
- Steel tube frame
- End caps to prevent slipping and scratches
- Made in China
I purchased the white blanket ladder to use in my sun room. The ladder is sold packaged in a slim box that was easy to get home.
Inside the box were the bars and screws for the ladder, along with a sheet of instructions for assembling the ladder.
The box and instruction sheet both list a phone number and email address for after-sales support:
- 877-242-2636
- sales@uranushomeproducts.com
Assembly was easy and took just a few minutes.
The ladder looks good in my sun room and holds three blankets attractively. It might look a bit crowded if I put a fourth blanket on it.
My only minor complaint is that the silver-colored screws are pretty visible on the sides, but it’s not a deal breaker.
I might consider buying another ladder for my living room or basement family room if the ladders are still in the store during my next Aldi trip.
The Verdict:
The Huntington Home Blanket Ladder comes in black or white and holds up to 20 pounds, or three to four blankets. It assembles easily, looks nice in our house, and is a unique alternative to stashing blankets in a basket, ottoman, or draped over a chair.
