Huntington Home Character Backrest

Aldi is one of my favorite places to get décor for kids’ bedrooms. During the late summer, the grocer sells all kinds of necessities such as bedding and lamps, along with fun stuff such as bed canopies and fairy lights. One of the most recent things to catch my eye was this cute character backrest.

Huntington Home Character Backrests (product code 701201) cost $14.99 each at the time of publication. They are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), meaning they are only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if these are sold out at your local store.

They are available in dog, dinosaur, unicorn, and cupcake designs. I opted to purchase the dog pillow, which matches the dog-design Huntington Home Hooded Plush Throw I also purchased at the same time.

The backrests measure 26 inches by 14.6 inches by 18.9 inches.

They have a 100% polyester shell (exclusive of decoration) and feature a sewn-in carrying handle. They’re certified by OEKO-TEX to be free from harmful levels of more than 300 substances. The shell was made in China, and it was filled and finished in the U.S.

These should be spot cleaned only.

My grade schooler loves her character backrest pillow. It’s big enough to provide plenty of support while she’s reading, playing a video game, or watching a movie, but it also fits nicely on her twin bed without taking up too much space. It’s also very soft, and we like the details such as the dog’s ears that actually stick up from the top of the pillow, and the paw prints on the armrests. The carrying handle sewn onto the top is — literally — very handy as well.

The Verdict:

Huntington Home Character Backrests are giant pillows with armrests that come in dog, dinosaur, unicorn, or cupcake designs. They feature a soft carrying handle sewn onto the top and have fun design details. Recommended for any kids’ room, playroom, or reading corner.
