Huntington Home Twin Sheet Set

A couple of times a year, Aldi sells sheets, comforters, and other bedding for kids. It can be tempting to want to redo bedrooms frequently because the discount grocer sells so many cute sets at low prices. I bought a reversible twin comforter and plush blanket a few years ago for one of my kids’ rooms, and they’ve worked out great.

I also bought a set of everyday twin sheets from Aldi a couple of years ago. The flat sheet and pillowcase for that set are fine, but the fitted sheet is big and has a lot of excess fabric. It stays on the mattress all right, but the extra material flops and slides around on top of the mattress. The mattress was purchased about nine years ago and is about 9-10 inches thick, which seems to be within the range of standard size, although perhaps thinner than some. It looks like our Aldi twin fitted sheet was made for an extra deep mattress.

(On a different note, I’ve purchased two sets of twin flannel sheets from Aldi over the past few years, and they are fantastic, with no problems with overly large fitted sheets. I highly recommend Aldi’s flannel sheets.)

I was hesitant to buy any more non-flannel twin sheets from Aldi, but then Aldi sold sheets with a unicorn print recently, and one of my kids begged for them. They were only $7.99, so I caved and hoped that maybe Aldi had improved its fitted sheets since the last time.

This Huntington Home Sheet Set came in twin or full sizes and, as mentioned above, cost $7.99 per set at the time of publication. That’s a lot less than other retailers.

The sheets are an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your local store, they’re gone until the next time Aldi decides to sell sheets.

Aldi sells different sheet prints and colors each year and doesn’t typically bring patterns back, so choices will be different each year. In March of 2021, options for the twin size included Rainbow Unicorn, Space, Gray, or Purple, and full size was available in Gray or Purple.

Here’s more information:

  • Sheets are made of 100%  Polyester Microfiber
  • Twin includes flat sheet, fitted sheet, and pillowcase
  • Full includes flat sheet, fitted sheet and 2 pillowcases
  • Sheets are machine washable
  • Fabric is OEKO-TEX certified to be “free from harmful levels of over 300 substances”
  • Sheets are made in China

The sheets should be washed in cold water on the gentle cycle, separate from other colors. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry on low. Iron on the lowest setting if needed.

The package for the twin unicorn-print sheets I bought states the dimensions are as follows:

  • Flat sheet: 66 inches by 96 inches
  • Fitted sheet: 39 inches by 75 inches by 12 inches
  • Pillowcase: 20 inches by 30 inches

The sheets look cute on my child’s twin bed. The unicorn print is adorable and the colors are lovely, and they match the reversible patterned comforter I bought from Aldi a few years ago.

However, we still have the same issue with the large floppy fitted sheet.

There is so much extra material I can easily grab a handful of it.

My daughter loves the sheets and insists she doesn’t care about the big fitted sheet, so we’ll keep the set. Like the other fitted sheet I got from Aldi a few years ago, this one does seem to stay on the bed okay, so that’s a plus. But after buying two sets now with extra-large fitted sheets, I’m not eager to buy any more twin sheet sets from Aldi.

The Verdict:

Huntington Home Sheet Sets come in twin and full sizes in a variety of attractive colors and cute patterns that are perfect for kids’ bedrooms. Just be aware that the fitted sheet — at least for the twin size — is large and best suited for thicker mattresses.

  1. We need an aldi’s here in Sussex County…I drive 30 miles to Rockaway because Aldi’s is the BEST! Bought Full Size Sheets they are equal to others priced at $200.00 in high end stores. Huntington Home has good quality products, you can bet I’ll be watching for other of their items at Aldi’s. I bought fantastic Christmas presents for my Grand Son, his wife and their child. The educational watch for toddlers was a real find! She loved the pyrex dish in it own heated pouch and Grand Son was thrilled to get a tee shirt with v neck!THX

  2. Aldi’s sheets are light weighted sheets(very thin fabric). About as thin as they can make them. I had sheets that lasted me 20 years before they wore out. Aldi’s sheets, frayed, and tore in less than two years. Garbage.
