L’Oven Fresh Pre-Sliced Hamburger Buns

Aldi sells a number of burgers, both as everyday Regular Buys and as limited-time Aldi Finds. We’ve tried many of those burgers over the years and we’ve mostly been happy with them. We especially like to grill them up in the summer, but we’re not above the oddball winter cookout either.

I have a few keto-oriented friends who just do the patty, but most people prefer to do their burger the old-fashioned way, on a bun with condiments. Aldi sells more than one kind of bun — its brioche version is fantastic, and it also sometimes sells a keto-friendly bun — but if you need a traditional hamburger bun, Aldi sells that, too.

L’Oven Fresh Pre-Sliced Hamburger Buns are an Aldi Regular Buy. That means you can find them in stores all the time. While prices can change, at the time of this post, a package of 8 buns costs 79 cents, or about 10 cents a bun. That’s lower than what I can find at my larger regional grocers. It’s not a coincidence that I often see these buns at church cookouts and other community events.

As the name suggests, the buns come pre-sliced, so there isn’t any need to cut them. The slices are generally clean, too, so there isn’t much to do other than gently pull them apart. Once I’ve done that, they’re just as simple as putting them to use.

The buns aren’t massive, but they’re big enough to hold your standard burger, including the quarter-pounders that Aldi sells. We usually just serve them straight out of the bag and put burgers on them, but they also toast up nicely if you want to. (I like putting mine in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 1-2 minutes.)

We’ve also used the buns for sloppy joes, chicken sandwiches, and other assorted meals, and in all cases they work just fine. They’re maybe not as exciting as a more exotic bun, but they taste good enough and don’t damage the experience.

Nutritionally, they’re buns. The packaging warns that they contain soy and wheat, and that they may also contain eggs, tree nuts, and milk. Be aware of that if any of those allergens apply to you.

The Verdict:

L’Oven Fresh Pre-Sliced Hamburger Buns are a cheap and effective option when you need a hamburger bun. They taste good, hold together well, and are cut cleanly. If you need buns, I think these work nicely.

  1. Looks like an 8 ct package to me.

  2. Aldi buns are WAY better than Publix buns. My husband and I can’t even eat the Publix ones anymore.
