Garlic bread is one of my favorite indulgences. This carby, doughy goodness slathered with butter and seasonings is a great accompaniment to pasta-based meals such as lasagna or ravioli. Aldi sells various types of garlic bread and Texas toast as year-round Regular Buys, but the discount grocer also rotates other types of garlic bread into stores as limited-time specials. Today, I’m looking at one of those specials: hand-tied garlic knots.
Mama Cozzi’s Hand-Tied Garlic Knots cost $2.19 for an 8-ounce box at the time of publication. This is a product of Canada, and the knots are made with real crushed garlic.
This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering on its specials after they sell out at your local store.

If you’re watching out for allergens, the garlic knots contain wheat and milk. They may contain soy.
There are six servings per box, and one serving or one knot (38 grams) has 130 calories, 5 grams of total fat (6% DV), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% DV), no cholesterol, 230 mg of sodium (10% DV), 18 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), less than 1 gram of dietary fiber (3% DV), 1 gram of added sugars (2% DV), and 3 grams of protein.
The box has instructions for baking these in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the knots from the bag and place them flat on a baking tray or aluminum foil on the center rack in the oven. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. It’s not recommended to heat these in the microwave or in a pop-up toaster (they wouldn’t fit in a pop-up toaster anyway).

These garlic knots were a big hit in my house. They are soft and are coated in a buttery, garlicky, herby sauce that melts into the rolls as they bake. I baked them for 5 minutes, but they probably could have baked for 6 minutes. Nevertheless, these were excellent, and their texture reminds me of some pricier name brand rolls I’ve had. The only knock against these is that they are small and there aren’t many in the box, so if you spot these at Aldi, stock up.
The Verdict:
Mama Cozzi’s Garlic Knots are delicious soft rolls coated in butter, garlic, and seasonings. They’re some of the best garlic rolls/garlic bread we’ve had from Aldi. Highly recommended.
