Mama Cozzi’s Holiday Star Pizza + Holiday Tree Pizza

Holiday-themed pizzas at Aldi are a thing. This year, the grocer sold a heart-shaped pizza for Valentine’s Day and a pumpkin-shaped pizza for Halloween. The latest specialty celebratory pizzas to show up at Aldi are shaped like Christmas trees and stars.

Mama Cozzi's Holiday Pizza

Mama Cozzi’s Holiday Star Pizza and Mama Cozzi’s Holiday Tree Pizza cost $3.99 each at the time of publication.

These are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering, so once these sell out, they’re gone.

The pizzas are a product of Italy.  They are sold frozen and should be kept frozen until ready to use. Both pizzas are small, serving just two people (or one, depending on how hungry you are). The pumpkin-shaped pizza in stores during the Halloween season was also small like these.

Baking instructions are the same for each pizza. Preheat your oven to 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the pizza from the freezer once the oven has reached 390 degrees. Remove the packaging from the pizza and place it on a pizza pan. Place the pan with the pizza on the middle rack in the oven. Cook pizza for 12-15 minutes, until it is thoroughly cooked, the cheese is bubbling, and the pizza has reached 165 degrees. Let pizza stand and then serve. Leftovers should be refrigerated immediately.

Ingredients in these pizzas look pretty wholesome, with components such as wheat flour, real cheese, bell peppers, cream, basil, tomato pulp and tomato puree, extra virgin olive oil, and more, depending on which flavor you purchase.

If you’re watching out for allergens, both pizzas contain wheat and milk. They may also contain soy.

This pizza is topped with cheddar cheese, red and green bell peppers, and mozzarella pearls.

This was our favorite of the two holiday pizzas. It’s cheesy, with good flavor and a crisp crust, and the mozzarella pearls are a nice touch.

This pizza is topped with spinach, cheddar cheese, red and yellow bell peppers, and pesto cream sauce.

This is good, but it’s not a traditional pizza. It doesn’t have the gooey cheese we associate with pizza. It looks like a pizza crust topped with diced spinach/mild pesto/green stuff and bell peppers. My kids weren’t as crazy about this pizza, but my husband and I thought it was fine.

Mama Cozzi’s Holiday Pizzas come in Christmas tree or star shapes. Both have various combinations of cheese and colorful bell peppers, and one has a pesto sauce. If you like unique pizzas, these are worth a try.
