Mama Cozzi’s Mini Pizza Crusts

Pizza is a favorite in my house. While we don’t often splurge on takeout pizza, we keep a steady supply of pizzas in our deep freezer for easy lunches or dinners. We’re big fans of Aldi pan pizza, stuffed crust pizza, artisan crust pizza, and various take and bake pizzas. My family’s top-ranked pizza is the homemade version made with Aldi yeast packets, but when we don’t have time to make our own dough, Aldi ready to bake pizza dough is pretty good, too.

If a large pizza isn’t quite what you need, Aldi also sells some small pizza kits perfect for baking up individual pies.

Mama Cozzi's Mini Pizza Crusts

Mama Cozzi’s Mini Pizza Crusts cost $2.29 per package at the time of publication. Each package contains three mini pizza crusts plus three sauce packets, and you can purchase a 15-oz. pack of original pizza crusts or a 12-oz. pack of thin pizza crusts.

These are a Regular Buy, which means you should be able to find them at Aldi any time of year. I usually find them in the aisle with the boxed pasta, jarred sauces, canned goods, and baking supplies.

They’re sold at room temperature but should be refrigerated or frozen after opening if you don’t bake them all at once. The packages are not resealable if you don’t bake all the pizzas at once, so I put my unused pizza crusts and sauce packets in a gallon Ziploc-style bag in the fridge.

These pizza kits are kosher, and if you’re looking out for allergens, they contain wheat.

Baking instructions are the same for both the original and thin crust pizzas. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Remove the pizza crusts from the package and lightly brush with olive oil. Then top the crust with desired ingredients (sauce, cheese, meat, veggies, etc.). Bake on the oven rack or on a cookie sheet (middle position) for 7-9 minutes. For a crispier crust, bake until the edges are golden brown.

I made several of these pizzas for an easy family lunch. They’re simple to make. Just open the package, remove the number of pizza crusts you want, and add one sauce packet to each pizza crust. Then add cheese and any other toppings you want (I used shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni from Aldi), and bake. My pizzas were golden brown on the edges, with bubbly cheese, after about 12 minutes in my oven.

My pizza-loving family liked these. They taste similar to other prepared pizza crust and sauce kits I’ve purchased from other grocery stores … a step up from certain frozen pizzas but not as good as homemade pizza crust or some takeout pizzas. My family happily ate these pizzas, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again. Not only do they taste decent, but they also allow each person to customize their toppings. These little individual pizzas put an end to arguments about whether to leave the pepperoni on or off.

  1. We make great pizzas using Aldi flatbread and pesto sauce, with artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and thinly sliced onions. Mouth watering as I type!

  2. I like to make up several, both thin and original. I try to use a variety of toppings on each one ( to give a choice), and then I freeze them individually, wrap in plastic wrap and vacuum seal in bags for freezer. Then ijust take orders, and remove those chosen and cook like any other frozen pizza. Great for football Saturdays at home.
