Mama Cozzi’s Party Classics Pepperoni Pizza

My family loves the name brand Totino’s Party Pizzas. They’re generally not that expensive, and sometimes you can even find them on sale for around a dollar.

Aldi has a good selection of excellent pizzas, including both Regular and Special Buys. Aldi even sells its own imitation of Totino’s with its Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Party Classics pizza. It sells for about the same price you might find a deeply discounted Totino’s, so the price difference is small or at times nonexistent.

I was curious to try the Mama Cozzi’s Party Classics pizza to see how it tastes compared to Totino’s. In short, it was okay, but it is most definitely not the same as its name-brand counterpart.

This product comes in a box in the freezer section at Aldi, and it looks similar to the packaging for Totino’s, so it’s obvious what this product is attempting to imitate. I purchased the pepperoni because that’s all that was available at the time, but I’ve seen combination (pepperoni and sausage) and cheese options in the past. Most recently, the boxes advertise: “Now with more cheese!”

The pizza bakes for 13 to 15 minutes in a 400-degree oven, and it serves two people (or one person, if we’re going to be honest here).

The Mama Cozzi’s crust does not come out of the oven as crispy as a Totino’s crust, and it doesn’t have the exact taste or texture of the name-brand pizza. There is nothing wrong with it, but it simply does not compare or compete with the classic taste and texture we all associate with Totino’s.

The Verdict:

On its own, Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Party Classics pizza tastes fine, but if you’re looking for a good impersonation of a name-brand Totino’s, this is not it. Just buy the Totino’s.
