Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

I was at a New Year’s Eve party last year where a homemade buffalo chicken dip was served. I’ve never thought of myself as a fan of spicy “buffalo” flavored foods, but that dip was surprisingly good and I resolved to start trying some more buffalo chicken types of dishes. Aldi sells a few of these, some as everyday Regular Buys and others as limited-edition specials.

Recently, Aldi sold a buffalo chicken thin crust pizza.

Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza cost $4.79 for a 17.85-ounce pizza at the time of publication. The package describes this as “tangy buffalo ranch sauce, lightly breaded buffalo style white meat chicken, mozzarella and white cheddar cheeses on a thin crust.”

As mentioned above, this is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, these are gone until Aldi decides to bring them back, whenever that might be. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

If you’re watching out for allergens, this contains wheat, soy, and milk.

This is a pizza, so it’s got its share of calories, fat, carbs, and sodium in addition to a lengthy ingredients list that includes some processed items such as maltodextrin, xanthan gum, carrageenan, and natural flavor.

Fresh out of the oven.

This pizza was done after about 14 minutes in my oven. It baked up golden brown with the right amount of crispiness.

As would be expected, this pizza has a mild kick. The spice level is on the higher side of mild, and my family liked this pizza served with a little ranch dressing for dipping, which also helps to tone down the spice. It has plenty of buffalo ranch sauce and cheese, and a good amount of diced chicken. This is a fun pizza for anyone who appreciates spicy foods.

The Verdict:

Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza features a tangy buffalo ranch sauce, white meat chicken, and mozzarella and white cheddar cheeses. It’s mildly spicy and a good choice for anyone who likes “buffalo” flavored foods.
