Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Hawaiian Style Pizza

Hawaiian style pizza is one of the more polarizing foods out there. Pineapple on a pizza? Some people give an enthusiastic yes, while others resolutely say no. While an old-fashioned cheese and pepperoni pizza has always been my favorite, I do enjoy Hawaiian pizza from time to time. Aldi occasionally sells Hawaiian pizzas as limited-time specials, and I picked one up recently.

Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Hawaiian Style Pizza cost $4.79 for a 16.6-ounce pizza at the time of publication. The package describes this as “Canadian style bacon, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese with a sweet BBQ sauce on a thin and crispy crust.”

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone until Aldi decides to bring them back, whenever that might be. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

To bake this pizza, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Remove the pizza from the packaging and place the frozen pizza directly on the middle rack in the oven. (I used a pizza baking pan.) Bake for 14-17 minutes or until cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.

I baked this pizza in my oven, and it was done after 14 minutes. The crust was crisp and the cheese was nicely browned on the edges.

This pizza has a generous amount of diced pineapple, more so than many other Hawaiian style pizzas I’ve had, and I like the large pieces of Canadian style bacon. The BBQ sauce under all the toppings is perfectly flavored. Overall, this is really good for a frozen pizza, and it makes a good easy lunch or dinner served alongside a salad. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again if I spot any left in the Aldi Find freezer aisle the next time I go shopping.

The Verdict:

Mama Cozzi’s Thin Crust Hawaiian Style Pizza features plenty of diced pineapple, Canadian style bacon, bacon, and BBQ sauce all on a crispy thin crust. If you’re a fan of Hawaiian pizza, this is worth picking up.
