Open Thread: Adventuridge 6-Person Tent

When school lets out for the summer, my family routinely plans multiple camping trips. Some of my extended family own a camper, so my own immediate family will pack our tent and meet them. We especially like state parks in our region, which are nice for getting away while also preserving some amenities like showerhouses and access to a camp store for things like ice and firewood.

Aldi has firmly established itself as a major source of camping supplies during the summer. The grocer often leverages its rotating limited buy section to cycle in everything from tents and bedding to backpacks and other accessories. Aldi gear holds a regular place in our camping inventory, including self-inflating mats, lanterns, and foldable duffle bags.

Central to the camping experience is a good shelter, and on that front, Aldi has sold a number of tents over the years. We own, and have used, a small 9′ x 7′ Adventuridge tent. In addition, fellow writer Kelly owns the 14′ x 10′ model and her husband has used it for their family adventures. Aldi has sold other tent models, too, including this one that fits somewhere in between.

What We Know:

The Adventuridge 6-Person Tent (Product Code: 45173) is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, and you won’t be able to find it again until it comes back the following year, if at all. Aldi does not ship products online.

This tent cost $59.99 in May of 2023. That’s the same price it cost in 2022. It’s $10 more than in previous years, but it’s also considerably less than most other tents of this size and capacity.

Most Aldi tents, including this one, are made by Wenzel, which makes a variety of camping equipment. We’ve generally had good experiences with our Wenzel-made Aldi gear, and when we have had a problem, we had a positive warranty experience.

A note about capacity: tents often advertise as being for a certain number of people. This one, for example, is listed as a 6-person tent. In our experience, that number usually requires you to pack campers in like sardines. More realistically, this is a tent for 2-4 people, especially if you intend to keep a lot of gear inside the tent.

What We Don’t Know:

While our writers have spent considerable time with both the smaller 9′ x 7′ tent and the 14′ x 10′ tent, we have not tested out this exact model. That’s why we’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.
