Open Thread: Ambiano Buffet Server with Warming Tray

Aldi sells everything you need to get Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner on the table, and the discount grocery store has what you need to keep food warm once you’ve got it on the table. That includes the Ambiano Buffet Server with Warming Tray. This warming tray has four removable pans or compartments with lids, so you can serve a variety of foods and keep them hot.

What We Know:

Ambiano Buffet Server with Warming Tray

The Ambiano Buffet Server with Warming Tray cost $29.99 in 2019.

Features for the 2019 model include:

  • Temperature control and indicator light
  • Four removable pans with handles
  • Removable lids to keep warmth in
  • A base that can be used separately as a warming tray
  • Cool touch handles
  • Nonskid feet

Aldi has sold this buffet server in previous years, but we don’t have any price records. The last time Aldi appears to have sold it was in 2017, and back then it had after-purchase support provided by Protel Service, a German-based company with connections to Hegele Logistic. We also found a manual for the 2016 model here. In previous years, Aldi sold buffet servers under its now discontinued Kitchen Living product line.

We did find a video of an unboxing of the buffet server from 2018, in which a customer opens the box and assembles the server, and he discovers the platform the pans rest in is warped. Hopefully he was able to exchange it, but in any case, the video offers an idea of how big the server is and what kind of space it might take up on a counter or tabletop.

What We Don’t Know:

We don’t have any experience with Aldi’s Ambiano Buffet Server with Warming Tray, so we don’t know how well it works. We also don’t know what its measurements are or how much food it holds, and we don’t know what kind of a warranty it comes with.

  1. Bought the buffet server last January 2020 in the sale, used it this Christmas Day to keep the food warm, my husband got a very nasty cut on one of his fingers that took ages to stop bleeding, he accidentally brushed his finger across the metal grid that houses the dishes, it has very sharp edges on it, very bad design BEWARE, won’t be using that again

    • Bought mine at aldi in 2018 or 2019 and just pulled it to use for the first time and I can’t get it to stay on and heat anything. New Year Eve 2020, guess it belongs in 2020. Total bust.

  2. Cannot get spare lids for this product as they crack after a short time so waste if money
