Open Thread: Ambiano Ceramic Copper Titanium 10.5″ x 20″ Griddle

A griddle is a useful kitchen tool, great for making fried or over easy eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage patties or links, bacon, hash browns, or even burgers or grilled cheese sandwiches.

You can purchase simple griddles that go over one stove top burner (or some even cover two burners, if you’re cooking for a crowd).

You can also find griddles that plug into a socket and run on electricity, which can be useful if your stove top is already in use or if you don’t have access to a traditional kitchen — if you’re camping, for instance. An advantage to using an electric griddle is that the entire cooking surface heats more evenly compared to a griddle placed over a stove burner.

From time to time, Aldi sells both stove top and electric griddles. Today, we’re looking at one of the discount retailer’s electric griddles.

What We Know:

Ambiano Ceramic Copper Titanium 10.5" x 20" Griddle

The Ambiano Ceramic Copper Titanium 10.5″ x 20″ Griddle (product code 14373) cost $19.99 in March of 2021. That’s significantly less than other ceramic copper titanium griddles on the market, including this Bella branded one from Walmart.

The Ambiano ceramic copper titanium griddle is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Once it sells out at your local store, it’s gone, and you can’t order it online.

Aldi also sold the griddle for the same price in 2020.

The 2021 griddle’s features include:

  • Copper Titanium Ceramic for “ultimate resistance”
  • Nonstick surface
  • Metal utensil safe
  • Fully immersible griddle
  • Adjustable temperature dial
  • Removable temperature control
  • Cool touch handles
  • Dishwasher safe drip tray

The 2020 griddle came with a three-year warranty serviced by Sensio, which is now called Made By Gather and which provides warranty service for some other Aldi products, including the Ambiano Electric Smokeless Grill. Made By Gather makes a variety of small kitchen appliances and accessories and produces brands such as Bella, Crux, and Brim.

One of the more common ceramic copper titanium griddles on the market is a Bella brand, and it’s possible the Aldi griddle is simply a rebranded Bella. We don’t know for sure, but this Bella griddle looks a lot like the Aldi griddle.

We don’t yet have details on whether the 2021 Aldi griddle has a warranty, but it is likely the warranty will be similar to what came with last year’s model.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried the Ambiano Ceramic Copper Titanium 10.5″ x 20″ Griddle, so we don’t know how well it works. We also don’t have warranty details yet. Our goal with open thread posts like this is to provide a place for people to share about their experiences with the product.
