What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried the Ambiano Digital Turbo Convection Oven, so we don’t know how well it works. We also don’t know if the 2019 model will have the same three-year warranty the 2018 model had.

  1. Digital model doesn’t include the extension ring. It does have the 3 year warranty.

    • This was a big waste of money right from the beginning. The cord hung down along the side of the heated oven. I had to remember to put a clamp on the cord so it would stand out from it so it didn’t get burning hot if I let it hang naturally. Dangerous very dangerous. If I had children I would not of used this unit. I lived no where by Aldi’s any longer to return it. Then the heating element quit heating up after about 40 uses.

      • After about 40 uses AMBiano turbo convection oven stopped working. The phone number to call for service is no longer in service with no forwarding phone number. Spend your money just to throw it in the trash. Now that I have read all of the other comments I understand why they change their phone number or has none for customer service.

        • I have just had the same experience as others shown here. The heat portion stopped heating despite the fan and both timers continuing to operate. I bought this from Aldi, left it in the box unopened, shipped it in a shipping container to my new home in Ecuador. I’ve been using it for about two months (40 days?) when it stopped heating this morning. I am not an electrician. I may be able to find someone to repair it here in Cuenca but that remains to be seen. Even at that, it may cost more to repair than I paid for it. I had a similar product some time back that lasted for years. This one is obviously a very low quality brand which would cause me to steer clear of other units made by this same manufacturer. Is it possibly a Chineses knock off?

Just got one today and while using for first time it seems to be turning on and off is that normal?

  3. how does it perform?

    • It performs well. I cooked 3 pork loin roasts in it and they all turned out very good. Crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. The time to cook seems faster than in a regular oven, I think because the heating element is closer to the roast than in an oven and because of the fan. And the cook time seems to be faster as well. Overall, I’m pleased with its performance.

  4. Is this like/does it perform like a air fryer? Air fryers appear to be nothing more than a small oven with a fan = convection oven. Am I wrong here?

    • It’s works better than those other enclosed air fryers where you can’t see your food being cooked. I’ve bought the 2017 model and now this digital model and I find this digital model better. Two big pluses from older models is that its digital with presets (old ones would have the lettering wear off over time and couldn’t really determine the temp setting) and the power cord can now be removed from the heating unit. When these these units go out, it’s due to the power cords getting damaged. So if this cord gets damaged, all you’ll have to do is buy a new cord instead of replacing the whole unit. So far I’ve used it for baked chicken and toasting my Italian bread and it comes out great everytime. There is a setting called reheat that I love to use for toasting multiple slices of Italian bread and other meals that have already been cooked.

  5. Does anyone have a link to the manual (Ambiano Digital Turbo Convection Oven manual) ? Misplaced the manual. Thank you in advance.

  6. I’m headed out tomorrow to return my second Ambiano convection oven in less than a week. Both of the units would cycle on and off like they were supposed to, but both eventually would just stay on, the first one burning my food, the second one the plastic parts on the lid actually melted, and when I picked up the lid, it came apart exposing the wires. I love this thing and I am so disappointed in the poor design/manufacturing. It’s not typical with Ambiano.

  7. We got the digital one for Christmas and turned it on for the first time today. Wife said it was on for a total of 2 min and it shut off. Said it smelled like burning plastic and now it wont turn back on. Looking at the top I can see the vent has started to melt. I dont think it’s supposed to do that with 2 min of life.

  8. I bought one and I hate it. It doesnt work rught and is burning everything. I followed the instructions. Piss poor invention. Not a happy camper

  9. my oven stopped working. it was o.k. one day and would not turn on the next day. what can I do to turn it on?

  10. I have the digital Ambiano from Aldi and it worked well but did not last long. I have burned through at least 10 of these oven by various vendors in the past 13yrs because I cook with it EVERYDAY. The Ambiano was my first digital oven out of 3 prior Ambianos. I liked the quick 1 button click and it would then pre set your temp & cook time but this one burned out on me in about 5 months so another one bites the dust.

  11. I got turbo convection oven in 2019 and it stopped working in 2021. There’s a 3 year warranty and the company phone number is no longer is service. If they were gonna change the number they should have left a new number. I find it pretty shady that they don’t have any contact information for calling or emailing. I hated how the cooker turned on so brightly you’d be blinded by the light – very strange. Other than that, it did work nicely when it worked. One day it just stopped working all together, no reason.

  12. I finally got through to the company via a new Ambian product phone number and their web site. They have refunded me my full payment. I ALWAYS keep receipts with instruction booklets and warranties. They always ask for them. If you don’t have a receipt they may just ask for a part of the product back or pictures of the product so don’t throw anything away until after you have contacted them.

    • Robin, would you be kind enough to share that contact info? You can reply to my post if you care to share. Thank you very much.

  13. I purchased 2 of the digital turbo ovens in Dec 2019. One is still boxed. The other one worked well until last week when it stopped working.
I called the number listed in the booklet. Was told no parts are available and can’t be repaired.
Asked for email so they could send info for a refund. I still had receipt, all box material and warranty information. Yesterday they sent a code to use along with a photo of unit with 3 inches of cord cut off.
Emailed it this morning and they replied they will send refund of $39.99 within 10-15 days.
I did use it alot, my husband did a little testing on it, but never found out why it quit working
I still have the 2nd unopened one to use, will see how that goes.

    • Refunds rather than replacements seem to be the norm with a lot of Aldi warranties. Also, I had problems with a slow cooker last year, and they had me cut the cord and send a photo; in that case they actually were able to send a replacement slow cooker, but eventually it developed the same problem. Good luck with your other oven.

  14. Thanks. I think that’s the norm also. Aldi used to carry alot more small appliances. I do have an induction cook top, 14 “round covered grill, 3.5qt casserole slow cooker, and rotating waffle maker. All Ambiano. I told the rep. that I had another unopened convection oven. She said it still has a 3 yr. warranty but the box has the same code on it so I don’t know how they would know the difference if I returned it also.

    • We’ve seen Aldi sell fewer small appliances over the last several months, and it’s very possible it’s because of the supply chain snarls most retailers are now facing. Here’s to hoping that in the future all the kitchen gadgets come back to Aldi!
