When you eat at certain restaurants, when your food is brought to the table, the server may ask if you want freshly ground black pepper. If you say yes, they will bring out a pepper grinder and crank the seasoning right over your alfredo pasta or your salad. It’s a small indulgence that can make a meal feel more special. And you can enjoy freshly ground pepper (and salt) right in your own home with your own salt and pepper grinders.
Aldi sells manual salt and pepper grinders, but we’ve had poor experiences with those where they tend to break. Instead, we like to buy manual salt and pepper grinders from Aldi’s cousin, Trader Joe’s. They work well and are nice to keep on the table for whenever people want to add some seasonings to their plates.
However, if you don’t want to twist the grinder yourself, you can buy electric options that operate at the push of a button. Aldi just so happens to sell electric grinders at certain times of the year.
What We Know:
The Ambiano Electric Salt and Pepper Mill Set (Product Code: 818925 in 2022; Product Code: 825694 in 2023) cost $14.99 in November of 2023. That’s $2 less than the $16.99 it cost in 2022. That’s also a return to the $14.99 price that the set sold for in 2021. I could only find a couple of other electric salt and pepper mill sets on Amazon that were cheaper than this, so this is a competitive price.
This set is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back at some point. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.
Here’s more information about the 2023 set, according to Aldi:
- Available in Black, Steel Gray, or Green
- Offers adjustable grinding fineness
- Transparent container with illumination at bottom of mill
- Operates with 6 AAA batteries (included)
The 2021 set came with a three-year warranty, but Aldi has not yet published information about whether the 2023 set has a warranty.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t yet tried this set, so we don’t know how well it works or how long it lasts. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.
